You should baffle the engine. CH Ignitions which now is the distributor for Keleo exhaust sells baffle kits for the 90 and 84. I don't know what temp mine run at. I just go by feel on landing. Actually, I don't even worry about it anymore..I have the 84 in the Zero and the 90 in the FW 190 with a fan. But you don't need a fan. Just make sure you have plenty of air exit.

The point of a fixed tail gear sounds good to me, i'm going to find something out to get that done

Is there anyone who has a video of their FW-190 flying with a FG-90R3 ?
I read a lot about it, but can't find a good video so i can see how it flies with this engine.
This video is not of the TopRC FW-190 but shows two TF FW-190's, one with a FG84R3 and the other with FG90R3 flying together.

Thank you for the video!
I allready found this video, there are a lot videos from the TF FW-190.
But that one is a bit smaller (85") instead of the TopRC FW-190 (93")

How do you normally fly. do you fly with wide open throttle mostly or half throttle.

Congratulations! I see you had a three blade propeller in the picture but flew it with a two blade instead. Can you please give us your thoughts on this choice. Thanks

Thank you ! I sprayed it with indoor matt paint different colours. Then sprayed it with two component clear coat. Then rubbed with 3m blanket to get matt finish.

Thank you ! I have the three blade Biela propeller 22/12. For the first flyins of the motor i choose Xoar carbon propeller 24/10. It gives a good rpm in the area 6200-6400 on the ground. Good tuning for the Saito FG90R3 radial engine. (Needle settings H = 3 L = 5 on both my 90 engines)
Its nice to look at a 3 blade propeller, but i think i prefer a better speed with the two blade.

Strange looking paint colors. The plane looks like it flies great though.
Congrats on your flight.

I have a saito fg90 in mine. After 4 flights, I'm thinking about swapping the engine out for either a eme70 or dle120. I got a lot of compliments on the sound of the saito, but I feel that it is under power for a 34.5lbs airplane. Plus the engine is overheating (I'm pretty sure) in the air. Handling felt poor in the air. I already have the NIB EME70, but not sure how much more power it has over the saito. The dle120 has the same dimension as the DLE111 and I'll be able to use 24x12 3 blades. I want at least 50% more power than the saito. Another option is to go to the 125cc radial, but I don't want to spend another $2000 on it.
Anyone has the EME70 in their bird ? What is the power like ?
