What I have read is the 50 HP radial performed almost as well as the 65 but the 65 was smoother.

I have read nothing about the cost of the engines. Maybe price was an attraction for the radial.

three cylinder cubs

Piper made about 30 J3 Cubs with two different radial engines. The engines were a Zekley and Lenape Papoose. Only one is left flying and it was a conversion back to a J3P. I believe it is in Oregon....

I also use Sig-ment and Ambroid in addition to CA and alphatic types of glues. I have a plane that is still flying that I built in 1967 with Ambroid and the joints are still fine. IMO, Titebond will...

Hanger 9 Cub with Saito 90 twin and Tri-cycle gear.
1/3 scale Cub with Saito 450 three cylinder...
