I "leaned into the cat shot" in the Prowler and Intruder as I found the initial impulse from the cat would jar my head with sufficient force that I couldn't focus on the instruments riding...

Guys on the main gear strut compression on retraction, my bad. I know the EA-6B have the main struts compress and I believe the the A-6 as well. The nose gear on both of the flying drumsticks...
