Hey guys,

I found a 60 size tilt up quiet muffler. It appears the cylinder section is press fit into the cast front piece and/or with adhesive. There are no screws. I got it factory new still in...

Anyone here anything out of Fox lately? Website is still down. I see Tower Hobbies still has stock on their glow plugs and a few other small items. Is Fox still making glow plugs? My LHS still has...

Hobbsy,
That's what I figured it was since I could see thru to the front piece meaning there was no baffle to block my view. I took a chance when I bought it because I had no time to research it...

Hey guys. I never had a Fox quiet or quickie muffler. I picked up one the other day and fits my 45/46. The quickie and quiet mufflers seem to look pretty much the same on the outside. Mine has a...

Unfortunately, staying in this hobby will probably mean most of us will end up with cheap Chinese powerplants of somekind - either fuel or electric. I have enough glow engines for my fleet though...

I noticed the Fox site is down for maintenance today. Wonder what's going on and what the site will be like when it comes back up. I wonder if they'll mention their current situation or have...

This might be old news to some, but I saw on a CL post from earlier in the year that Fox is going out of the engine business. There was a brief letter supposedly from Sharon that said basically in...

There's just something unholy about a nice scale plane that whines instead or roars. Electric just ruins the scale effect unless you put a sound generator in it but that's more battery drain.

RE: Club FOX!

Speaking of mufflers, has any one else noticed the price of Fox's mufflers on their website? I just saw where their 45 size tilt up/down is $62 bucks and their 60/74 is $69![X(]
That is crazy!...

RE: Club FOX!

Someone on here once said that Fox ramps up late in the year since it makes more economic sense to do their castings when they're basically needing to heat their plant anyway. Also, more people do...

RE: Club FOX!

The fact that it acts up in 5 different planes and you successfully used a Fox 40 in one of them makes this a challenging problem to me. It really makes it seem like its the engine. Seems like you...

RE: Club FOX!

Yea, we have a jerk in our club too and another who mouths off about radios once in while. People like that try to bully or pressure others into using what they use as if you must submit and conform....

RE: Club FOX!

Hi Roy,

That might be a tuff one to get at. I never had that with any engine except for a Cox TD.051, which doesn't really help. Anytime the plane's nose tilted up or down just a little (even...

RE: Club FOX!

The 45 is my overall favorite and workhorse of my 40 size fleet. Very durable and dependable engine. We had a fun fly last weekend and I dragged out a plane with 45 attached that hadn't seen daylight...

RE: Club FOX!

Had a good time late yesterday just before dark with my 4-star 40 and Fox 45. Plenty of power and no problems. Soon Fall will end, weather turn cold, and I'll grab my big snoopy mug full of coffee or...

RE: Club FOX!

Fox has been rather weak in the marketing department in recent years. They have a nice website but terribly underutilized. They could do so much more to make it better for customers by providing...

RE: Club FOX!

Sounds familiar. As you probably know, Fox tried designing their engines for no or very low nitro back in the early 80's (if I remember) with the idea that they're doing modelers a favor to help save...

RE: Club FOX!

They have to make new parts in order to offer that 50 gas engine version. However, at $275 (sale price), I'd have to do a lot of flying with it just to hit pay back over the cost of nitro. I wonder...

RE: Club FOX!

FYI. I just noticed that MECOA put their trade-in link back up on their website. I know this is Fox, but about half my engines are K&B and the other half Fox. I like'em both. I have a OS 40 that I...

RE: Club FOX!

I wonder if Fox does anything with their trade-in's. I don't see where they have ever gone thru them and resold them like Mecoa did. Maybe they get some scrap metal value out of them. I noticed that...

RE: Club FOX!

I don't know how the 45 compares with the 46 imports on power. I've never compared them. I have two 45's and they are my workhorse engines of my 40 size fleet. After break in, they are very reliable...

RE: Club FOX!

Thanks Earl. OPS was the 3 letter company I couldn't remember. I have some old 80's RCM magazines where Fox put out some large page adds and one of them had a chart showing how their new Eagle...
