We fly the TopRc Zero (93") with the Saito FG 84 and a Biella 22 x 12 3-bladed prop. 6100 on the ground BUT it can unload in the sky to 7000 rpm. No reason to rev that high. Nothing good happens...

My friend and I had no issues with his new FG 90. No mods at all. We broke it in, tuned it, and flew. No problems at all.

Is there an earlier version of the FG 90? I'm not sure. You might be confusing the FG 90 with the FG 84. ( I have both). The FG 90 is nothing but a bored out FG 84 PLUS some mods for better fuel...

In terms of the Waco, baffles will help, but remember that air exiting the cowl is part of the equation. I'm still working through that challenge on my FW 190. Air exits are minimal.

What prop are you using? Baffles are a must for this engine. They should be about 25mm back from the front of the heat sink. This puts the baffles right around the engine center line. Make sure you...

No surprise re: Horizon. They must protect the brand. I think the Saito runs better with the modifications...that does not mean it won't run without them. Either way you have a great engine.
