RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Same here 16x8 on the 1.25 is perfect. I've use a 15x10-12 and got crazy speed but too much for my Corsair.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I attached a new spinner to it and try to spin it. It would only turn about 3/4 and you see where it's bent. Can also see where the front bearing is slightly smashed. My other concern is if the cam...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Yes you can see it clearly. It hit after about a 100' nose dive at 1/4 throttle on a 4*60.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I used to used Boca ceramic bearings in my off road buggy and they spin ALOT freer and dissipates heat much better. I would imagine they should free up a few more RPM's for you. A buddy just rebuilt...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Man it's been awhile since I was here last time. Got a 1.25 recently and put it in my wife H9 Corsair. I use a APC 16X8 usually on this motor but wanted a 3-blade for this plane. Would a 14" or 15"...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

As long as the surfaces aren't warped it should be good. We have a few 2 strokes that we take the gaskets off the exhaust and sand the header smooth and never had a problem with them.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

The proper way to do it is too let it warm up to operating temps then shut it down and retighten. You can tighten it down until it won't move anymore and after it warms up and the threads contract...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Will those fit any saito? I've looked at a couple off of different sized saitos that have them and as far as I can tell they are the same size. I have a .62 I'd like to put one on.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I had the same problem recently with my .62. Only has 7 flights on it and when i was cleaning it up at home and running the fuel out I noticed this. I am very cautious about balancing the props and...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

You can also use a piece of leather or emery cloth on the backside of the prop. This is what they recommend for YS motors due to backfiring and stripping the flywheel and backplates. With the emery...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Something we did on my friends .72 after very poor idle problems. He took the motor apart and and removed the valves, then we used powdered graphite and sprinkled it fairly heavy in the area where...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

That allows the fuel to be fully ignited when the piston reaches TDC and produces the strongest power stroke, if it was right on TDC it wouldn't get a full burn on the fuel before it started to exit...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

yes, the RPM hit about 9800 as it would only go about 9200 before. I am as shocked as anyone else is, I don't know if there would be any draw backs to it all. I put about 6 tanks through it that day...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Exactly, I could not believe the difference in the power. It gave it another 500-700 rpm's. The torque was the most noticeable though. I have always used an APC 14X8 at about 8800-9000 max rpm and...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I know what you mean about the idle, tough to get it right on. The .72 that my friend has came with the stack on it. It is pretty old though.

Well took the 4* out a couple weekends ago for a little testing with the 1.00. The prior adventure ended with the header breaking at the last thread inside the head. Was strange considering it's...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks Lynton, thats what I was worried about. What size drill do you use for the inlet and do you tap it or just solder it in place. I saw the new RCV 130 is tapped that exact way into the intake...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

My guess would be that if the tunning isn't working and if you haven't used a filter on the .72 that you may have problems internally. It really doesn't take much to score up a piston and sleeve to...
