if there is no caster it just takes longer to run it.

as far as props go you can get away with wood props slightly bigger because they are lighter then apc.
it also has to do with your style of flying and the type of plane.
Saito 220 in a sundowner...

last year a valve retainer let go on gallon number 7.
they fixed it. on gallon number three and it seems to to be running stronger and idles down to 1800 and will hold without the glow driver on....

i have just over 7 gallons on the 220 now.
even with the 16x14 it now idles at 1700 with no glow and it starts even its been sitting for an hour without a prime.
1 to 3 hand flips...

that makes sense.
i have a 220 glow in my sundowner and love it.
I was looking at the kmp beaver on floats and I think the fg36 would be perfect for it, even though the valve covers would...

no but almost all gas 2 stroks have needle bearings.

the plane is a Hanger 9 sundowner, its a scale f1 pylon racer. the winsapn is 80.5"
the gps is just a garmon 60csx handheld.
the fuel flow was a close @ 1 oz a minute. most of my flying is down...

tonight i put the gps in the sundowner with the saito 220. just over 8000 static with a 16x14 apc on 30% heli. winds were barely moving the flag i would say 1 to 2 mph.
i also made sure not to dive...

I have 6 gallons on my sundowner 220 now and evan with the 16x14 it is actually starting to idle lower without the onboard glow on.
still in a long down line itg will back fire when i start to...

as soon as i hit 5 gallons the idle went for a crap
the idle was just over 2000rpm and i was happy with that.
now its the same thing i have been reading about... 2800+ and now...

I have close to 4 gallons on it and it always had a little tick to the engine. but now its a louder tick...
the engine is running good... idles good makes good power. is this tick...

I talked to iron bay about 6 months ago and he told me that there systems cant deliver enough fuel for the bigger engines.
unless they have a new model but it does'nt look like it.

well i have almost 3 gallons on it and its a very sweet running engine.
I havent really needled the low end but it ticking over about 1800 very nicely.
the engine likes a very wet...

I am useing a 17.5x12 on 15% nitro 20% oil and every couple of flights I can hear, see and feel the engine getting stronger.

I got a chance to fly my sundowner with the 220.
wow what a sweet engine even on 15%.
the idle was a bit harsh until leaned the bottom end close to turn and a half.
its still abit finicky...

from what the saito experts at the club tell me they like to be very wet prime before you can hand start them.

Most of the time all the starter does is prime the engine to start it.
Nothing beats a good prime and it nice when you can just bump it start.
as for the guy asking about the break in time.......

well I got a chance to run the 220 on a stand today.
Primed it, set the carb to 1/3, and one pop and it flashed right up to 3200 rpm.
I did what the book said for the first ten minites and up to...

it all would show that the slower the better for the first run.

power master and cool power are wat i am useing right now. I have never tried there mixed blends, last i looked they did not make a blend with 2-3% caster it was always heaver like 75syn and 25. I...

my spellings sucks..
yahh the caster is nice in the way and thats about it.
you can do that by useing after run also.
when there is a foren object in the fuel the caster will glob onto...
