adding to the above post. after the valve adj., then the piston was hitting the exhaust valve. seems to be why the gap was so large to begin with. in other words watch what you buy off of the big...

the exhaust valve rocker arm was obviously over gapped upon removing the cover. after 3 four stroke guys took a look, got the gap back down to .0002-.0003 the piston was clicking on the valve...
