RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I'm not sure that would explain why it ran fine on my stand, but not in the Ultrastick. My 72gk is fairly new. Just got it last year. It still has the plastic back plate, but it has reinforcing...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I've mounted a saito 72 sideways in an Ultrastick 40, where the center line of the fuel tank is below the carb. but I'm having trouble getting it to idle. If I richen up the low end, it eventually...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I experienced the same thing with an old 72 that seized up right after 10 min on its first run. The crankshaft had a burr on it that binded the piston connecting rod to the crankshaft. It also...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the advice all. I was going to go up to an 11oz tank, but if I can get ~20 min on the 8.3oz tank, then there is no need for the extra weight. I was going to start with the 14x4w prop on...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

What size tank should I use for a Saito 82 that I'm putting on a Yak 54 ?

The plane came with an 8.3 oz tank, but I think that may be too small for this size engine.

Since everyone is...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Not sure if the RX regulates the voltage for the servos. The website tech info does not give enough detail. I may email them to find out. The regulator switch is only 1.6oz, so it may be worth it...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the tip. Where do you get the MPI switches?

Most of the spektrum receivers can take up to 9.6v.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the advice! An 82 sounds big to me for the wing loading on this aircraft, but I guess you can't have too much power for 3D. I did a comparison, and the 72 and 82 engines are listed at...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I am debating what size Saito engine to put onto a 56" Yak 54 with a wing loading of ~5.3lb/616sq in.

What size wide 3D prop could you spin on a Saito 56 or aSaito 72?

What RPMs can I...
