yer you're right,was really just proving to myself the saito would run without nitro, not coz of rust issue but did feel all oil whether synth or castor would both give rust protection.

Isn't it the nitro that promotes the rust and not whether castor or synth is used???
My test was run the saito on 80meth 20castor NO NITRO
She ran fine, A slight drop in rpm

Ha, Is that a condition of the saito club? Pass on knowledge through the generations.

By the way Macgregor are expensive for bearings and bearing change. Just Engines doesn't touch saito.

Yer, I just returned from bearing shop, the assistant took off the rear shields for me. I paid $12.55 (converted) for the pair. They say made in japan too.!

I hope the crankshaft has a taper or...

I just called a local bearing company and he knew what those numbers you said ment and he's got them in stock.
However, interestingly, he pointed out that the front bearing is imperial...

Thanks, However, like I say, now that I have removed the back cover I can clearly see the rear of the rear bearing is sealed.
I've looked at horizon hobby 82 parts and this to shows its sealed,but...

I would have had a go myself but you need tool,don't know how much tool cost is,in comparrison to them doing it who have tools.

My saito 82 may need new bearings. Its does feel graunchy, turning prop by hand.
I have power loss.
Good rich setting,
even leaning makes no power increase.
Good cooling to.

Ive just got a new gasket set and theree is a metal Washer the same size as the two orings provided. both intake manifold pipe.
Where does this metal washer go,? is it a packer...

ive just ordered a NEW PLASTIC BACK PLATE FOR MY 82 as it has deformed and melted from a hot run. When i took it out i noticed some plastic particles inside.

had a good run on my 82 when later into the flight the power dropped off the top end and then cut. Too lean?

How many inches back does my tank have to be (using saito 82) before I have to use a pump or rugulator. And do you just leave pressure nipple??
