RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I love short coupled biplanes too.
You might enjoy scratch building a Pitts. I've got plans for in a couple of sizes if you want them. One is has a .46 (sorry a 2 stroke), but some people have...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Well put Ed. Like most things in life, it's only difficult the first time.
I'm no master modeller but for me, half the enjoyment of this hobby is building. I don't care much for assembling ARFs I...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Would that make them single strokes?:D

I used to run all 2 strokes, until I got a few 4 strokes, and now I doubt I'll buy any more 2 strokes - unless they're 1/2A. Now, if there were 1/2A 4...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have a couple of questions about velocity stacks. A velocity stack is used to smooth our airflow, right? Should it be used when you use an air filter? Is there an advantage to using it without...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

The LS is an airbleed and I have leaned it a little, but it is still fairly new. I've got about 25oz through it. Here is a video clip of the first flight with a 4oz tank. As you can see, the...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

The larger Saitos seem to be more fuel efficient than the smaller ones. My Saito .30 gets less than 5 mins on a 6oz tank.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I've only ever flown the kit version. I said a lot, not overpowered. Maybe I should rephrase; if you want it fly it like a trainer, then you wont need more than 1/2 throttle.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

That's a lot of engine for a Kadet Senior. You wont need to go more than half throttle.

4-Stokes aren't as prone to flooding as 2-strokes, so I'd mount it inverted.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I've found that Rustoleum (Tremclad here in Canada) is fuel proof after it cures for about a week, but Krylon never became fuel proof. I guess you could call it fuel resistant.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I tried Krylon on a cowl, but it wasn't fuel proof. Is the baking what does the trick? Of course, I couldn't do that with a cowl anyway.;)

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

The manual says from .03mm to .10mm (.002" to .004").

It's called a feeler gauge.

I'd think that the component of nitro that causes corrosion of steel is oxygen.
