Thanks all for the suggestions. I think I've found the problem The neddle valve wasn't seating. I had a new one and it so far seams to work fine.
I'll know more tomorrow.

Maybe, but I don't think so. Transision is good from idel to high speed. I'll take a look at the LS needle tonite when I get home.

Rained all day here today, but tomorrow looks ok. Put plane on charger and should be at the flying site around 8:30 tomorrow morning. I feel for you guys in the East.

Hi All. I have a Saito 82 in a Segull 46 size Decathlon. I maidened it today and all went well Saito ran like a watch, but I have a question. I have a 14X5 on the 82 now and it turns about 8800 RPM...

It maybe your lsn. On the stand it may have been set ok in the plane do to tank location it maybe set rich. A rich lsn will make these engines vibrate.

That's the way I do it and I've never had any problems. Just have to be carefull and not mess up the crank threads or case.

Aparently he got intrested in quads and going to the Coast. He sold almost everything he had. At those prices he gave it away.

I'm out here in Ca. and think we have cold weather today, it's about 50. Snow is pretty to look at but I'm sure glad I don't have to clear my driveway to get out.

Any body have Data on what a Saito 82 should trun a APC 14X4W Prop at RPM wise. I just ran mine and get about 9500 t0 9600 max. I'm also having a problem with idle dosen't want to idle below 3000...

Has anyone had problems with air leaks on the 82. I just rebuilt mine and it's sucking air from someplace. I replaced all the o rings and gaskets. I didn't see a gasket on the back plate, should it...

First thanks for all the input. I think I have the engine fixed. I found that after ruuning the engine the exhast valve would become loose. I would re-adjust and run again and it would come loose...

Thanks Guys, I do appreciate the input. N1EDM as far as I know the engine has never been disassembled, and it shows no signs of having been. The temp was 45F and I don't even want ot think about it...

Thanks for the quick replies w8ye. Engine feels good bearings don't feel rough at all. Getting about 9400 RPM's, could probably get a few more but trying to get to run cooler. OUtside air temp this...

Yes, I'm using a tach and backing off about 3 to 4 hundred rpm's from max. I've been flying rc for about 30 years, but fairly new to the four stroke side.

I'm not a member of club saito, but would sure like to be. I need help, I have a Saito 82 and I can't seem to get it to run right. It acts like its out of time, it gets hot really fast like less...
