"Vertical drag racing" is quite a good description of LER duration events, be they FF or RC.[8D]

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have never had a problem with drilled & taped fiberglass mounts since they first became available. Never a problem, though I have used them for nothing larger than 1.08 2 stroke and 1.20 4...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I had a Saito 50 at one time. Very nice running engine. As I recall it was an ABC engine. I think all the current Saitos are AAC, though I am not sure.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Roo Man,

To slow your RPM at full throttle use a higher pitch or larger diameter. Or a little of each.

I have used the Hangar 9, GloBee and Fromeco tachs. All have worked well enough. The fromeco will give a reading from a bit greater distance.

I also have an ancient Vibra-Tach that reads very...

I have been kicked by two BSA singles, several horses, and two rodeo bulls. The BSA was the most vicious by a wide margin.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I wouldn't worry about it if the engine runs well. Most of my engines regardless of 2 stroke, four stroke, or brand, will seep oil if I put in a good amount and let them sit. I have also noticed...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Ed, that certainly seems logical, and I have often noticed dark colored "stuff" blowing from the breather vent. The OS Surpass ll engines however vent the crankcase back to the intake manifold...

I wouldn't put much faith in advertising claims!

Besides, it is just SO easy to protect your engine with a little transmission fluid, why NOT do it?
