RE: [Deleted]

Any engine that has the cam and pushrods in front of the main bearing should NOT use a sealed bearing. Sealed bearings will prevent lubrication from getting to the cam and followers. A shielded...

RE: [Deleted]

You should not remove the inner seal on the front bearing as that will allow pressure to blow out the front seal. Sealed bearings come with high quality grease in them so that no further lube is...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Bearing stainless (440C) is hardened to the same range as bearing steel and is very ductile compared to high carbon steels.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I would say that improper fitting can damage a good bearing faster than a poor quality bearing will go bad.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Yes, I have been very busy lately. Our business has more than doubled this year! We must be doing something right!

Stainless steel bearings are hardened to the same range as bearing steel. so...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Make sure that the area for the air to escape from the cowl is much larger than the intake. Otherwise, the air will stagnate in the cowl and heat up. I flew in Phoenix, AZ for year with temps well...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

There are hobby stores all over Europe that can ship items very inexpensive. I can also ship bearings to you for about $5. I don't know why some US companies choose to rip people off like that. ...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

There is no basis for this comment. Hard Chrome is a plating process that is not used on bearings. It is used to hard face wear areas such as cam lobes, etc. Stainless steel used in bearings is...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

40oz is nothing for these engines. That is only 4 10oz tanks. As suggested, use an OS F plug, or a Thunderbolt long.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

This is completely not true! Stainless steel bearings are hardened to the same Rockwell range as all bearings and will last just as long, if not longer due to no rusting. Also, there are no hard...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I hate to do this but I tried a post in the for sale/trade section and only got useless replies.

I have a NIB Saito 100 that I would like to trade straight across for a NIB Saito 82 (new case). ...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

You would have to eliminate any parts that are not gas-tolerant, such as any silicone parts. You would have to adapt a gas carb such as a Walbro. You would also need an ignition unit and spark...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Have you thought about using some JB Weld? Not enough to be permanent, but enough to keep the nut from backing out? How about safety wiring the nut?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Ed, when assembling motorcycle and auto engines, it is necessary to use special assembly greases in critical wear areas such as cams and rockers. This prevents excess wear and heat until proper...

Properly crimped stranded wire will last a long time if, like others have said, it is mounted to the rear mounting lug. By properly crimped, I mean using a properly sized ratcheting crimper, not the...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hehe, not hardly!

Just to be perfectly clear for the newbies,NEVER, EVER ,NEVER use the crockpot for food after using antifreeze in it! Get one from a yard sale or such for cleaning engine parts.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Castor is not recommended because Saito uses a one piece cylinder and head which makes cleaning carbon deposits very hard without damaging the metal.

Old fashion glycol antifreeze in an old...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
