RE: TBM Shock Jet

I have been flying a P-80 in my ShockJet for about a year now. I have an 80 oz. fuel tank that I got from Ali's Jet Central that gives me about 10-12 minutes depending on throttle management. Plenty...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I wouldn't worry too much about the reported wing problems. Make sure you follow the instructions on the recommended modifications included in the manual. If you put it into perspective, there have...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

If you go to the documents section of the AMA web site (located in the Members Only section), you can get a complete list of all AMA turbine waiver holders. You should be able to locate someone in...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I used the CA hinges that came with the plane and have had no problems. I pinned them with tooth-picks just to be sure. They are a lot easier to install than the Robart type.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I had a problem with using a Y on the flaps because they were hinged slightly differently.  The gap on one was a little larger than the other and the hinge line was a little higher causing the...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Has anyone ever felt the need to seal the gaps on the control surfaces to help prevent flutter? I have not experienced any flutter to date but wonder if it should be a concern.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I've got 6 flights on my ShockJet now and couldn't be happier with the plane. Being my first turbine, I was a little apprehensive aboutmoving up toa jet but the ShockJet makes that a moot point....

I saw elsewhere on this forum that someone encountered the same problem but found the slots had been cut but were under the covering. I think they ran a covering iron over the edges and could see the...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

You may want to look into the 101 oz. tank that TBM just released (see post 331-332 above). It would be a good deal cheaper and has more capasity. Too bad they released it after I had already bought...
