RE: TBM Shock Jet

One is sufficient, I have 2 on mine, just cause it was there. P-80, smoke, 75 oz fuel. We are down here in Alabaster, just south of Birmingham. Here is a small video.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Bob,

I use crow all the time. When I set it up I found that if you take about 10 deg. of the flap out it flies really well. I had about the same set up you had with flaps only. The ailerons are...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Bob,

I have 70+ flights on mine all of about 7 off grass. I used thin CA and glued everything again and used blue locktite on the blind nuts. I also used Hysol in the critical areas, engine...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Hooker53,

I put each aileron and flap in their own channel, so I can use crow for landing or just flaps. I like the idea of redundant systems, is it worth it, hopefully. Set it up to the best of...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Kevin,

I split the elvator in the middle to have dual elevators. A little over kill, but as Bill said the servo can go on either side. I used both of them.:D

RE: TBM Shock Jet

1/2 flaps will shorten the takeoff to about 25ft. with a P-80.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Yes, use a FOD screen. You'll be amazed at what will be stuck to it. When you fly it the first time, you'll pull off the wing and say that's where that went to.:D

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Mr DJ,

Looks pretty good, don't forget to reconnect the fuel line after you purge it. Check the balance the plane with UAT (BFT) full. When you are finished running, use the line that you filled...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I had a 14MZ for almost 4 years, love it. The 2.4 is glitch free. I use it in my SM F-22 with almost 50 flights and in the FB Panther 4 flights and the Shock which has 53 flights. I use dual Fromeco...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Here is my set up. There are 2 vents out the bottom one for fuel tanks and one for smoke fluid tanks, mounted above the UAT and single 24 oz. tank in front. The propane tank is in the rear above the...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Cut the aft floor and lower it, you can get a 50 oz. rear and 24 oz. front with a UAT and 2 x 12 oz. top for smoke or fuel.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I put robart hinges all the way around. I left the CA hinges in the flaps, but I used packing tape on both sides to make a full span hinge.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

The airplane holds a good attitude all the way down final. I found that you can be at idle all the way in, assuming its not gusty. The plane floats for days, if your too fast you will not have much...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I used on aileron all I could get expo 40%. The flaps I first flew with all I could get, a little to much. I took out about a 3/8 of an inch. The flaps were almost 90 degrees for the initial flight....

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Crow works great! I just took a little of flaps out and it actually slow flies better.
