I've got one on the front of a Gilmore Red Lion. Uses about 300-400 mah per flight. I'm always amazed at how little fuel it burns in an 8 minute flight!

I haven't noticed that one. Right now the plane is in Florida but I'm back north in Baltimore. Won't be able to eyeball it for a couple weeks. Will let you know then.

Ended up running a 10-32 bolt with a washer from inside the firewall, going through spacers into a locknut. Easy peasy.

Thanks, this explains it. Might not even need the 1/4" ply over the t-nut. Using epoxy to hold the t-nut in place, some of the epoxy would no doubt get on the stud. Between that and the red...

Can you post a picture of this? I'm trying to figure this out. when you say "permanently install them", are you gluing them to the blind nut? How do you hold it in place to tighten the lock nut?

So what did you do on the inside of the firewall? Still use a blind nut? Using your suggestion, I'm thinking just use a 10-32 bolt with the head inside the firewall, maybe a washer between the head...
