RE: TBM Shock Jet

Not saying it isn't the receiver, but I have at least 20 flights on mine with a Superbee and Futaba 2.4 receiver with no problems at all.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

No. But you can get your waiver number quickly if you do it right. A friend of mine faxed mine to AMA early on a Wednesday. I called them about noon on Friday, and the young lady said that they...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

We will see if Kevin agrees. On mine, the trailing edge of the elevator needs to go down down 1/16 inch with full flaps.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Well heck. I didn't want to have to do any cutting. Will take a close look and see how hard it will be. If nothing needs to be moved I'll seriously consider getting one.

Thanks;

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Hello Mr DJ.

One thing I would personally change is the location of your receiver antennas. It is not necessary to run them to the outside of the fuselage. Also, I feel it is better to have one...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Did a search for turbine connection and didn't come up with anything useful. Do you have a web address?

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Still can't get mine to flare (or hold the nose up during short final) unless I keep power at about 1/4 right up to touch down. If I go to idle before touching down, the nose drops and the nose wheel...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

That's what I am looking for. How much elevator throw do you have?

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Thanks. I will have to change receivers to do that (Y on the ailerons and all channels used up), but it would be worth it if it flares properly.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I agree. The rudder seems to have no effect at all in any maneuver. Still haven't tried to spin, but hammerheads seem to be impossible because of the rudder. Even during takeoff and landing nothing...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Anyone tried spins with the Shok? I haven't had the nerve to try it yet.

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Thanks to everyone for the advice about flaps! They are VERY effective. I went from overshooting the runway, even with a headwind last sunday, to landing short of the runway with no wind yesterday....

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Thanks everyone! The weather is looking good for more flights after work today. I plan on getting my flap-elevator mix set up on the next flight and then see if I can get it stopped on our 400'...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

I got 3 flights on mine Sunday. Haven't figured out how to slow it down for landings, but it flies very well. Plenty of power with the super bee engine but as a turbine novice the spool up time seems...

RE: TBM Shock Jet

Can anyone suggest a starting point for aileron and elevator throw? How much down mix is needed with half and full flaps?
