Thanks Pete, at 71 I'm still a good healer, the Dr. released me with no restrictions when I tore my bicep off, gives me braggin rights for having four titanium screws in my shoulder. I still mow my own lawn, no ridin mower, replace my own brakes. My nextliest project is to put new timing belts on the 2000 Mitsubishi Galant our daughter gave us.
Here's is a trial fitting of my old 1.50 on a Goldberg Tiger 120, perfect spot for it. Without the Perry pump of course.

Hello Fellow Saito heads,
I have a new FG 17 Gas engine I'm trying to break in. I ran it yesterday and it seemed like it was going to be great. Idle was great -- transition was great----- then it started cutting off and back on---- of and on --- off and on. I thought maybe it was running out of fuel but I took over two ounces back out of the tank. I ran it again today and after about 10 minutes it started the same thing. Any ideas about this ? How about you Mr. w8ye ?

Apart from owning those el cheapo jett engines i mean..that can't be good karma can it??
Was thinking about johnpopes(a distant relation?)problem with his fg21.If it was the earlier 20 you'd be saying carb and main needle problems plus ignition faults whenever you looked at that engine sideways but it's the later 21..still ignition or maybe to rich?

Hi dave good news on the health front man you must have some patience,i work on my motorcycles quite happily but cars and trucks leave me cold.
Can you give some info on how the 150 went with what looks like a vp20 pump mounted and why you did that.I have 2 vp20 pumps but have not used them yet.The plan is to fit one to the 220 which is inverted in a mew gull(english 1930's racing plane with a tiger moth type cowl) because it's been said here that cline regulaters may restrict fuel flow in large engines such as the moki210.I hav'nt run the inverted installation yet but would like to use the cline regulater so any tips are much appreciated, cheers

Ok here it is in longhand. You do own jett engines and that was meant to be a joke.Secondly,my brain took an unauthorised shortcut and i thought johnpope had said he had a fg21 plus since he runs saitos and you own jetts he was probably offended when i suggested you may be related

I just went back 4-5 pages looking for the request for a Club Saito number and couldn't find it. So, maybe it's time to ask who all needs a number. Just respond here.
We won't get into the LDM going over to the dark side thing........

Could it be time to post "the list" again?
I need a number...only have a Saito 30, Saito 50, 2 Saito 56's, Saito 80, a Saito 91 and a borrowed Saito 91, and a Saito 150. None of those are gasoline burners. Is that a requirement?

Well, I'm not usually a joiner but I like this club so would like a number. I only have one Saito -- FA 100 -- but it's my favorite engine. Hope to get a few more.

hi, i'm back and trying to catch up with the world. i have flown over lots of crops but sugar cane takes a lot of beating, mind you wheat stubble with wiggling sticks that try to kill the dogs comes a good second. nothing like a king brown (wheat) or a taipan (cane) to liven up your day and if you can be there when the cane is cut sometimes you can retrieve the odd lost model

ok, now i am officially back, re screws in shoulders, i'll take those 4 on offer earlier and up it to 6. for the record, i am now drug free (i think) and relocated in south east queensland. i am told that 3.5 hours for the reconstruction of my shoulder is some sort of a record at cairns base hospital, the usual time is about 1.5 hours for this sort of work. i moved from a low temp of 17 degrees to a low here of 2 degrees, but it is warming up. getting mobility back in the shoulder but can't drive until the end of october, amongst other things. i managed to acquire that arizona models avro 504 kit from my mate (a gift would you believe) which will get a saito radial. i also acquired a h9 fokker dv11 and have the new 82 for that and my flying mate down here is lusting after it so much the arf kit will make its way to his place next week for us to assemble. i have already been approached to check out a number of saito twins and see if they can be resurected, i'll be doing it on a 1 for them 1 for me basis and my mate will share in the work and spoils. been back i my old stampng grounds 5 days and already back in the swing of things. a bit of promotion, the gratton do (scale aero racing) is on again next year new improved format and lots of good prize money and goodies. we have 2 saitos already undergoing modification for the events. more later
Good news on the recovery mate and best wishes with it.What time of the year is gratton on because if you guys are flying large scale saitos i'm there if it's next september. Will be in melbourne around then.Should invite my mate popey up as he's much closer to you for a fly and we'll all fang around a bit and have a few taipans

Glad to hear that you are recovering. I almost made a comment about your great wife buying you that Avro 504 before I realized you meant the other kind of mate.
I had a 4 hour heart procedure and can relate to the ordeal. It isn't so much what they do to you as it is the drugs they pump in all those hours. It takes me days to recover from the anesthesia.
You should be giving the wife the guilt trip treatment.

guys, for any body considering the gratton do, check out the c.r.a.m.s. website. there is a loa of guff on there but the dates are pretty well fixed. some of us are looking to change the style / format of the event and open it up to different sized (engine) types while limiting the models to genuine a/c that have actually raced. i've been looking at the sacremento modellers website and their racing rules and will be putting that idea to the next general meeting which is after the krudd removal poll. but to answer the question i belive it is on early march and there will be good prize pots. btb we speak genuine aussie with a yorkshire accent (the owner of the paddock, chris gratton is from pommie land).
