I live in Denmark, but I can not recall there is a town called Castberg.

The closest name of your hometown could be Kastbjerg, which is a itsy bitsy tiny little 2 by 2 meter town near the town of Aarhus (which is the 2nd biggest town in Denmark (800.000 people), and where I live)

But as you mentioned, small Denmark was once a mighty big nation. I guess today, if you ask simple people one the street of New York, they don't know what Denmark is, they think it's breakfast or something like this...

Actually, I saw it in a Jay Leno show once, where they asked some people on the street. Half of them didn't now where Denmark was located on our planet , and half of those didn't knew that Denmark was a country.....

And Yes, we have some nice chicks, actually they are better en Sweden. But BILL also got some nice onces in FL. I think 5-6 times have I seen them myself close-up

I've seen a lot of Saitos take themselves apart too![] Iguess that makes me a member. Along with still having my first open rocker 30 that was bought new in 1980. Of course it has seen little use so it is still "together"

well i think i have officially broke in my 1.8, just ran another tank through her and have the idle dialed in, still out four on the high speed, and she tached 8550 with the 16x8 mas 3 blade and she lasted 16 min on my 16oz at 5000 rs so im ready to maiden her(and the pitts) soon (and may i add she is running great!!)

the spec sheet said 11.25-12.25lbs and it came in at 11.25. i was satisfied

Hi Bill, I just got back from the field and my second flying session with the Funtana with the 1.5 Saito. I changed from a 16x6 to a 16x8 and we tuned it a bit more and ran flawlessly (can't say the same for my landings). I used Morgan CoolPower 15% and had much less oil on the plane but a nice oil trail in the sky. Thanks for all your help....Dave

Hello again William. The only exception that comes to mind is a certain Saito 80 that was running just fine and totally broke up. No noisy warning . Power one second and the next second the prop was off and away. The case broke next to the lugs and the cylinder lifted. The little open rocker 30 is just too cute in it's little cllophane front box. I ran it for a while on an old Debolt Champ. It was my first 4 stroke and the fliers at the field insisted I needed a SMALLER prop than a 30 2 stroke would run. They almost refused to let me fly it with a 10-5W. Sure surprised them to see that little clacker lift off cleanly. Did I miss something ? The moderator issued a warning of some kind. I guess I missed the posting he referred to.

271 eh? My husband has a Moto Guzzi Scura that is number 271 out of 300 built. I better go get a lottery ticket. (Am I allowed to say that?)

Good to hear all went well, the only thing that bothers me is the Cool Power fuel – no castor oil in it. When you finish this gallon switch to Omega – it has the castor blend.

That sounds like a pretty long distance to rely on muffler pressure, but I have seen it work for some people. Quick check – run the engine and get it to your rich peak with a full tank, then shut down and partially drain the tank leaving it about 1/8 full. Restart, see if the engine still runs the same. If you, point the nose straight up while it’s still running. If the engine rpm doesn’t change much give it a flight test. Might work. Doubt it, but it might.

The little Saitos are surprising to many people, most don’t believe the size prop they run until they see it. And sometimes they still look for another engine hidden behind.

Just make sure your lottery ticket is also number 271. Haw.

Ah but in the post that was deleted I OBVIOUSLY WAS kidding. Also Bill, how about the new guy here for the first time and doesn't know you from Adam. Maybe he owns a few OS engines and decides to come here and see what people think about Saitos. Sees in your post that you think he is a moron because he uses OS. He doesn't know you are "joking". What a great first impression.

I’m partial to the Perry VP-30, but it has to be connected to the case vent, and the vent still needs to go to the atmosphere. Easier to use the VP-20 “Shaker” pump. An alternate is the modification kit supplied by Horizon/Saito, it uses the crank case pressure to pump the fuel. Hobbsy bought one, maybe he’ll chime in and tell how his works. I don’t know the price. The kit includes a larger bore carb, a regulating valve, and a replacement back plate.

Easiest might well be the Iron Bay regulator. Pretty much “Plug-n-play,” about $50 to your door. Or the Cline regulator, a bit more expensive but it’s been around longer than the Iron Bay unit.

As I said, give it a try before you commit to anything else. We might both be surprised.

A VP-30 can be used on a four-stroke simply by fitting a T fitting in the vent line. There is enough impulse there to drive the VP-30 normally. Naturally, the other side of the T vents to the atmosphere at least four inches away from the T fitting.

Paul McIntosh wrote about using the VP-30 with his OS.91 Surpass some time back on rec.models.rc.air. He was racing and solved his tank distance problems using this technique.

No specific pump for the helicopters. And as Ed said in his last post, not difficult to use the VP-30 on a four stroke, but sometimes the vent line needs a restrictor to get it working right.

The link you posted is to a site that has a lot of good Saito information, those notes on the pumps and regulators look good.
