Default Help: problems with 270T cylinder not firing

I bought a plane with a used Saito 270T. The right cylinder is hard to get lit. Once it does finally light it runs fine, a little hesitant at low-hi if I let it idle a long time. I put a new plug in (HORIZON 3011) which did not help. The exhaust valve was stuck at the tappet but I did get it working again with PB Blast. I have checked the valve gap and is good. No issues with the left cylinder at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I fit an elastic stop nut to all of my engines where the shaft length allows it to be effective. My thinking is that if the engine backfires and does loosen the prop nut, at least the prop and nut will not go flying. Comments?

That engine looks nicer than my 182 twin, does it have the same offbeat sound as the little fa90 twin? your 270 sounds normal. If i let my 182 twin idle to long it drops the right cylinder.Your stuck with one carby tho so maybe go a little bit richer or leaner on idle to settle the right cylinder down.

Capt don't encourage people to heave away at the spanners no matter what, you sound like a synthetic oil follower instead of a true blue castrol r man castor sniffing man

A little Corrosion X down the pushrod tubes and then a diet of castor free fuel would fix X's engine right up and it would stay that way. A shot of some castor free oil, look how clean.

Well, the knob needs polishing too, getting a bit tarnished. Thats what happens when it gets all muddy from plunging into the ground.

It's almost like you are comparing oils to washing machine powders like they do commercials for the whitest and brightest shirts dave,i like that nice bronzed look that saito's take on with a bit of castor added, which has the advantage of smelling good too which reminds me..that pic you posted of the bent handled adjustable shifter (we call them crescents here) looks a nice castor stained colour. Was that the one you used to hamfist the exhaust on the legendary hi comp 150 saito single?

Capt ok i'll giff youse guys sum electrocution lessens

ps richard i left no comment it was a gomer pyle style joke at myself mostly might be related to all the requests i get for spelling thingies.

pps barry here's my retro ducati, bring a helmet over and go for a spin

That wrench pictured above was called the Wescott wrench, I was using a real Saito wrench when I broke that cylinder. My Grandfather only bought certain brands of tools like, Wescott, Cresent, Germantown hatchets, Rigid pipe wrenches, Oshkosh jackets and bib overhalls. etc.

O.F. What's a giff?
And I think I almost have the little woman talked into a new bike. I'm normally a Kawasaki fan but been looking at Ducati they have a nice looking naked bike. (I call them)

I just obtained a Saito 300T Twin engine with flex exhausts and mcdaniels glow plug driver and wiring. I don't need it. Anyone interested? What's it worth?
