When I get home from Church today I'm going to time one of my Saito .30's for reverse running and as soon as I get a pusher prop I'll give it a whirl.

i don’t think you can do it like that. I believe you need a different cam. To run backwards. And don’t forget to put the pusher prop on backwards.

i Believe that you need the left-hand cam out of saito-100 twin to get an engine to run backwards for a 45 to 72.

And I think i need to learn more to, I’m not even sure if that’s the right cam, I was thinking about that also but I do know, I have a friend that had a left and a right Saito 91 and the one engine had a different cam in it to run backwards

You are right, I did some serious thinking and it won't work. It was a good thought while it lasted.

The ONLY CAMS that will work for reverse rotation is the REAR cam from and FA-100Ti or FA-200Ti.

With the port cam from twins you will be running the intake off the exhaust lobe and visa versa. The lobes are not symmetrical and the lobe separation angle will not be correct.

Thanks Dan, Imagine that the 1.00 TI cams are too big for the little .30 anyway. Horizon only has two parts listed for the 1.00 TI, engine code YY.

I was bad once i got to help fill the little shot glass before church and of course me and my friend would fill two drink one. By the time we got done i had to go home. I felt way to good to go to church that day.
By the way it wasn’t my church, we use grape juice for communion, it was my friends church they used one wine.

Pete- I think Cycle World ran the 4 page Kawasaki ad that said the 650 right out of the crate would beat any 750 in the world. That claim created quite a stir as the Kawasaki was beating any contenders with their entry into the 4 stroke world with the 750 and the Z-1. The 2 stroke crowd like myself felt abandoned until we saw how fast the 4 strokes were. Nobody was ready for the new line of 4 strokes that actually made the screaming 2 strokes look like scooters. The review of the Z-1 said the engine was so good that it would run on low test, high test, or no test gasoline. With bikes like these following the Mach III's there was no way Harley-Davidson was going to sell anything to the Japanese bike world past a few novelty motorcycles.

I've built a few pattern planes that came with sheeted wings, h. stabs, and fins. The turtle decks and forward decks were factory sheeted too. I've gotten to where I prefer building sheeted foam models over stick types. There are some good videos of bagging and it doesn't take a whole lot of money to get into that. I had some building friends who used concrete blocks for sheeting too. Gorilla Glue was the only glue they used.

Harley's have been steadily sneaking into Japan since 1917 and the most recent number is for 2016 at 32,889.

Maybe the odd one slipped out of bomb bay doors in the early days dave.Recently they have improved with the help of japanese electrics and switch blocks not to mention suspension components and instruments.Even porsche ag in germany got in on the act...did i mention italian brembo brakes?.Harley is a lifestyle marketer and a good one for peanuts who can barely ride on any sunday.Some stagger as far as the local cafe strip and wobble to a stop,you find them on straight roads out in the country at times too.Watched an early seventies complete harley dropped over the side in shallow water at the yacht club fifteen years ago and it's still doing it's job so i guess it's reliable.

Foam and balsa sheet is a very quick way to build and stronger than a stick build.

ps with small horsepower twins do you think it's worthwhile reversing a saito 30?

Funny thing about Harleys. The CHP bought Kawasakis back some time in the 1970s because they were "cheaper" than the Hogs and when loaded down with all the crap required for police work, they performed as well or a little better then the HDs.

They got a rude awakening when it came time to sell off the fleet and replace them. The Kawasakis depreciated so much more than the HD's, it soon became evident that the HD's were more cost effective in the long haul.

Fairfax County north of me has 32 full time Motor Cops as they are called and 5 alternates who rotate in and out to,keep everybody sharp. Each year a pair of them go to a National competition and they usually win.They do things you don't think a motorcycle could do.
