Wow, went to see The Last Jedi and was floored! It's our new tradition, open presents, go see Star Wars, come home, eat and watch Dr. Who. Now that Disney has the SW Franchise, can look forward to a new one every year. Thankfully not another Deathstar involved. It is a long movie though, so be prepared.

Dave these michelin pilot sport radial tyres have a much rounder profile and allow lean angles well in excess of fifty degrees.Pic taken two hours after they were fitted and scrubbed in edge to edge

Barry that's interesting about your arts degree.I hav'nt had time to resize images yet so i'll just post one for now.I you tubed cyclists riding in groups and got a dashcam video from over your way of a f150? truck driver stuck behind a big group,the guys commentary is very funny...something about the tv show 'south park' and a why people smell their own farts theme

Yep Dan, I do have an attitude at times. I used to bike around in Germany when my Peugeot was big deal, so I know both sides. And, I never dressed up like a fairy to hit the roads with it. I still have it and it's in near mint condition. Original tires too. They go for a good bit of money down here so it will up for sale soon.

The oil painting was done by tom roberts back in circa 1890 of australian wool shearers in the shed.I've transferred it to a safety cover for a shearing comb sharpener for heineger australia as part of a one off commemorative series the company is doing.Also see a photograph of modern day shearers.

I don't know if i'd fit that tyre dave,after you get past harleys modern marketing image and blurb one of the things harleys have never claimed is that they handle well,even in a straight line.Bear with me a bit because it's party time over here with the warm weather and xmas.My experience with dunlop elites has always been that they give you very little warning at the limit,just a couple of quick full frame shudders and then they flick you over the high side.So with that in mind i'm offering you a free paintjob on your next helmet and here's a couple of ideas to get the ball rolling.Should we start a sweepstake here and bet on how many km's blah blah blah

Good morning Pete, the Elite tyres, both bias and radial are dual compound, no worries on their holding ability. I have a Michelin Commander II on the front, it seems to be as hard as coal.
I am going to break in a Saito 1.00-T with a new ring and valves on the right today, then dig into a 1.30, I'm also going to paint the 1.30's cylinders black to spruce it up a bit. I envy your painting skills as well as the guy who painted this engine.
One of our Christmas gifts was two kits to send in a DNA sample, Hobbs is English and my paternal grandmother's name was Quigley, her father was Welsh so I might be a big chunk of both.

The paint is Dupli-Color/Ceramic, I received three cans yesterday. That engine is a Saito .45. I am brain straining on a way to clean the cylinders. I have a Crock Pot but have never cooked an ABC cylinder. Below is a Saito Fathead 1.20, I think also done in Dupli-Color Ceramic.

Bruce if you want to paint the saito cylinder it's finning makes proper cleaning difficult,certainly if dave's crockpot is ok to use on an abc cylinder i would do that.Second best would be to use a heat gun and heat to a temp you can just touch quickly,this is to sweat the oil out.When it has cooled use a high quality/aggressive automotive preparation solvent (prepsol) like dupont 3950.Repeat that process several times.As to painting i would not use an airbrush they don't deliver enough paint quickly enough to avoid dry areas on anything larger than a 50c coin.The red saito dave shows above i believe was prepped and painted by kmot (tom) and he does an awesome job on them.If the engine will only be a static display you can use nice glossy 2pak automotive paint with no problems,if you want to fly the engine i would use a rattle can like the one dave shows.
ps please note that when you use heatproof most times,there is a MAX thickness allowed spec,not MIN...so LESS is better in terms of longevity and working life.You won't find those directions on the back of the rattle can so go to the manufacturers website and search tech data sheets,pretty easy.If you need a coating thickness guide most of the one's i've used are laid down at 60 to 70 microns,good luck and happy painting.
