This is a generic answer.
We moderate with a "tie goes to the member" philosophy. If a pattern appears that is constantly on or over the line then that pattern is discussed with the member, pointing out the rules they are violating that they agreed to when they signed up.
Then if it continues posts are removed and the member is reminded again that what is going on won't be tolerated.
Then and only then, after review by the Forum Manager, RC Ken, a member is placed on moderated status, meaning they can post but each post must be approved. After a period of time, generally two weeks or repeated posting within the rules the MS is lifted.
Some folks, either by personality, culture or whatever feel that the rules don't apply to them or they need the last word. Some believe that a history of positive and valuable contributions earns them the right to break rules or makes their other posts above reproach.
The fact is, they don't have the last word, they aren't more valuable than their antics, and repeated behavior after being warned will result in MS or banning. We don't like to do it, its a hard decision to come by, but we can and will. New names? Won't work. They can't keep their mouth shut, we've done this too long and know and can easily recognize the writing style, and they can't hide their IP address. THAT will earn a ban, creating a new account to get around MS.
You might want to be the biggest, baddest, smartest kid on the playground and thats fine, but it won't be this playground
Also, moderators can't do what we/they want. All of our actions are subject to review up the line. Hobsy doens't moderate this thread because he is a regular contributor, its done by someone outside the discussion.

Dave if i liked cruising motorcycles as you do the motoguzzi mgx21 would be on my bucket list for a good reason.I could'nt buy one without being tempted to hire a full on complete batman suit to match,you can see the guy in this pic has got it all wrong

Saito friends, this is what happens when you ride a green motorcycle, note perfect covering on stab. It was all wrinkly, the instructions warn to not use a heat gun but use an iron set to 220 to 250 degrees. The iron set a 230 made it worse. I used a gun and it's perfect. The covering is OraCover and great looking stuff. The new Saito .56 is already in place but needs to be broken in. Pictures taken with new Nikon B-500

The two old style cutlass shaped props resemble the same props fitted to ww1 camels etc and i'd fit one to a good saito in a vintage biplane but i've seen a genuine camel prop and this effort at a replica prop is pretty poor.On the upside dave has a new camera and his pics are almost in focus from front to back now so keep a good eye on the pics jim.He always rabbits on about graupner props but has posted plenty of pics where in fact the engine in focus has an apc prop on it.Don't say anything about green or sooner rather than later a harley on trickle charge will appear in the background of many many saito pictures.

One of my favorite planes. Built mine in 2011 and still flying great, though the aileron linkages are sloppy.

The FA-80 is a "medium block" that starts with the FA-65 and eventually morphed into the FA-115 with the FA-80 and FA-91S in between. Many parts are interchangeable within the series.
The FA-82 is a "small block" that starts with the FA-56 and also includes the FA-62 and FA-72. Likewise many parts within this series will interchange.

Straight Pipes Question
guys, about these straight pipes with no mufflers (that are not really straight) that come on the Twins (like the 100T and 130T), do you consider them to be "Headers" I mean do you feel Turbo Headers would produce more power ??

Jim bob a lot of us have stood next to a big nitro car on the start line when it's ready to launch,kinda like standing next to a 20mm cannon while it's being test fired and i don't think there's room in the pipe for a baffle.I use a straightly bentpipe off my saito182 flat twin on my 82,slightly richer tune on the lsn than with the standard muffler.
Dave here's an idea for a t-shirt for your son and i've included a kawasaki accessory for barry

Jim, when we get a decent day here I'll do a comparo with the 1.30 twin using those curved pipes and then two TurboHeaders. Right now it has two Saito 12mm cast, revised mufflers on it.
Pete, this is my idea of a Super Bike, a TurboCat by Saber Tooth, powered by a 4.6 litre Ford twin turbo with 600 hp and 580 foot pounds of torque. Overkill, maybe a little, the fun factor, unbelievable.

Only engine I have run so far with the open pipes is the OS Gemini. I like the bark it gives. I have a Saito 45? with straight pipe for a Citabria, but haven't run it yet.

Hello, All.
I'm just starting out on 4-strokes, although I've been flying C/L and RC since the early 70's. I just got a brand new FA-40a today, and I've had an older FA-40 for about a year, but haven't taken it out of the plane it came with to clean up until last night. I'm going to use these for Control Line, and I want to fly the older FA-40 first to get some experience before risking the brand new engine to my poor CL abilities. Cleaning up the FA-40 last night shows the boots for the pushrod tubes to be hard and cracked. I need a new set. I tried searching this thread for info on replacement boots (rubber seals as Horizon calls them), but I couldn't find anything. Can someone point me in the right direction to find replacements?

Jim no.You need a nicely tuned lsn no matter what exhaust you are running and we rely on exhaust pressure for a constant fuel supply,which can vary if you change from a standard saito muffler to a straight pipe with the pressure outlet right at the tip.I got a little less exhaust pressure with a long straight pipe so you just peak the max rpm again and then re tune the idle and transition,mine ended up with a slightly richer lsn.
Dave i like the colour of that sabre tooth turbo cat.Here's a pic of a boss hoss i painted last year.The owner did tell me what was in it but after an exciting ride some of the details got forgotten,it was an adrenaline overload.I think the engine was a 350 chevy it sounded very cammy and WOOF! WOOF! (just like my dog when he get's overexcited) it's got more giddey up than any other motorcycle i ever rode bar none,when you can get it hooked up.Put it on your bucket list.

I had a neighbor here who had a "Wild Turkey" Boss Hoss, and it had 313,000 miles on it. Any time he was off work he and his wife were gone. His house appears to be empty as of yesterday.
When the weather breaks my son and grandson are coming in from Utah and were going to ride to the very scenic Great Smokey Mountains.
I have the tail feathers finished and their linkages connected on the green LT 40, I found a couple of extra JR 531's to run em. If we get a 50 degree day I'll run the re-built 11.30 and break kn the new 56
The 56 has a G on the right lug, nobody can relate those initials to anything useful, I guess they mean something to somebody.
