Do I recall correctly? Seems that Hobbsy mentioned owning a Martin guitar some time ago.

Bet he would be a good country picker.

Gosh dang jesse you americans can be so small town and insulated at times,lots of them there's a whole round world wide country and western out there.Ever heard of a world famous c/w artist from australia by the name of slim dusty? sings a song about an outback country bar called 'a pub with no beer' and that's a tragedy to big for mere words to describe and besides...i don't think dusty has ever heard of wailing jenkins,sorry,jennings or his cahoots.

Dave no news of how the saito 40 and bush hawk are coming along?

Sorry for slighting anybody. Of course we have heard and heard of Slim Dusty. Just tossing in some of the names from back when we first discovered country music.
Just as sure as I heard Chet Atkins long before I ever heard of Tommy Emmanuel. But I sure to listen to both. They used to play Slim Dusty on the public radio stations.
Shame on you for not mentioning Frank Ifield! You small town bugger

Still trying to remember if it was Dave who had the Martin Guitar. But I would prefer a Maton guitar myself of course.

Slim Dusty has been gone a loooong time but if he never heard of Waylon Jennings , he would be downright small neighborhood.

Sorry jesse i should have said recently in relation to slim ever hearing of wailing jennings,slim would have to have real good hearing that far under the ground..I have a faint hope that most people here have never heard of slim dusty so they google it,why suffer alone? and i think your on the money with dave being a guitar picker and maybe one of his brothers in a band somewhere i think they were in to sixties stuff big time.

ps don't just say the word picker on it's own over here,aussies automatically think of noses

Yes, I still have the Martin, it's a D3R, it's Martin's own in house knockoff on the D-35 but cost 1/3rd as much. I have several Slim Dusty CD's and some downloaded in my faves.
Here is the skinny on the FA .40, a new one I just broke in: I posted this back a couple of pages.

Saito FA .40a new and un run
Fuel==Wildcat 10% with 18% full synthetic
Plug===Stock?
Prop===Graupner Sonic pro 11 x 6
Max rpm stock exhaust==10,530
Max rpm with TurboHeader=10,800
Picture #4== no leaks any where.

I don't care much for that Hobbico tach., it reads all over the place and finally settles down the number I photograph.

hey Pete, I received the Midget Mustang today, it's super nice, I hate to disappoint you but I am going to put the OS 70sz-H in it, a smelly 2St it is, it's never been started, but if I could sell it for $200 I sure would buy a 4St for it, maybe even the OS 95V,,, put a Chinese OS 4St in it ?? naa, I couldn't do that to my Saito friends !!, I would have to buy another FA 100 for it,

any hoo, the plane is yellow, she's super nice and seams very solid, and I have a brand new OS Regulator (for OS 105 Heli engine) I will use on the 70, and the tank will be pressurized from the black plate with a check valve. she should go well and be constant too,

so I guess the 100T is going in my 4-Star .60, I will be clipping it's wing down around to 66"

Yes dave i read the prop figures they are good was wondering if the engine is in the bush hawk by now.

Jim post a pic of the midget mustang you have.From memory it is similar in size to my cmpro one which has the fa115 in it.The arf kit was rated for an os55 two stroke but the guys who flew one said an ax75 would turn it in to a rocket ship.That's why i looked at the os75ax and the saito 115,looked at the specs and fitted the 115 no problems and no tail weights.As far as flight performance goes the prop and engine combo has more wail than jennings in a full throttle dive sounds awesome when the prop goes boom.

ps jesse years ago on this thread i teased dave about his choice of music and motorcycles,specially that lime green thing.My scenario was that he should post a vid of himself on that lime green thing buck naked with his favourite guitar strapped across his back mexican style,from the rear of course,while being waved off by the wife who would do the filming.Strangely enough he never said a word

Riding Big Green nekid is a no, no, too much danger of running over something valuable.

I took time off from the Bush Hawk to build one of Top Notch's Lil Pups, I put an LA .10 on it. On the Bush Hawk I need to sand all those leading edges, I do that outside, I'll get started again as there weather is very nice, gardening time too. Lots of Briggs and Stratton's to run.

Pete, here's the Mustang, the span is 59.5" and it's setup for a 61 size engine, so a 91 OS 2St should fit, makes a guy wonder if a Saito 125 would fit, LOL it would push a lot of pitch with a 12 or 13" prop,, it will be 3 or 4 weeks till it's finished built.. I had some one hack my C-Card Sunday, so it will be a week before I get a new one, then another week or so for the new tail servo to come..

the hacker bought $25 in video games, funny thing is the same thing happen to my wife 7 months ago, there too they bought video games to play on the net. personally I don't think the money went to video games, I truly believe it's being funneled in some account somewhere, maybe more than one account ?,>>>>> see, I once call the Federal Fraud Protection about phone scammers, I asked how can a scammer call me using my own phone number or my brother's phone number, I was told that the instant the scammer's computer is connected to my phone the scammer,s computer can change their ID and location, so it is my belief that if they can do that with a phone number why can't they do that with a back account or when buying on line

edit> it seams like a good plane for the $200 price, and shipping to me was only $22.50

LOL edit 2, BTW, I only paid $115 shipped for that (never started) OS 70sz-H, so I will use it

I recently had my Walmart account hacked into. The thief bought a laptop computer and picked it up before anyone caught wise to him. Discover Card security service called me, asked If I'd ordered a laptop; I told 'em no, looked at my Walmart account, found out who picked up the laptop at the store and called the cops here. They caught the guy, searched his house and recovered the laptop. He worked at Walmart.

Here's the kicker: the cops think he was just the shill for a hacker ring in Africa. They do the hacking & ordering and get local people to pick up the stolen goods. Then the local guy is supposed to send the goods to a PO Box and they pay him when they get it. The only one exposed to being caught is the local dumb *****. The cops say that shipping the stolen goods off means it's a form of mail fraud, so they're trying to get the US Postal service involved. What a mess!

Yep, that's great looking Midget Mustang. I remember when Berkley made a kit of that for U/C back when I was a teen.

Those odd-fire Saitos do sound good. I would love to find a good clean 100. I have a 90 but the 100 is quite a bit nicer.

Wow, that P-61 sounds great, too bad that little kid wouldn't shut up. Guess I now know what engines to save up for to put in mine when I get around to building it. FG-84 R3.

My dad was a big fan of the P-61s when he was in the Pacific Theater. They had a squadron of them stationed with his bomber roup. He stated when they went out at night not a single Japenese bomber ever got pass them. They never knew what hit them!

Hoping some day to see the one they are restoring in the air again. I know it will be one of my ultimate builds because of the spoilers, but the one in that vid is really nice. Great detailing right down to the landing gear lights.

acdii I watched it again and turned up the sound, the sound alone was worth the price of the build, get to work
