Dang. Hobby makes his post, I try to answer, and before I can hit "Enter" there's three other posts giving the same answer. Oh well., I tried.

Please excuse my ignorance, but i have a tru turn prop hub adapter for my H9 Corsair and I do not know how it is installed. The spinner does not go all the way down to the prop washer when the 2 nuts that came with it are installed and the crank shaft hits the allen bolt before it tightens the spinnerall the way down. Do I need to cut the allen bolt that goes thur the center on the spinner and do I have to use a washer the is tightened down by the first nut.

skillet92, I've had to cut down the allen screw before. I used a thin wafer wheel on my Dremel. A slight bevel can be given to the cut edge of the screw by rolling the edge on the flat of the wafer wheel.

Danflyrc:

You are now in Club Saito as member number 326, and welcome.

Skillet:

TimC got it right. The Tru-Turn adapters come with a bushing for centering the back plate on the crank, they are selected for the base diameter of the shaft. The prop nuts are also selected for the crank thread size. The retaining screw, the Allen bolt that holds the spinner itself, is the same no matter what engine the spinner will go on. And yes, sometimes it has to be shortened. Don’t worry about it, just shorten it as needed.

OK, apologies to Kmot, jlkonn, TW, W8YE, and several others with whom I have regular correspondence not confined to Club Saito. I should have included them in the “Gimme” list, just too lazy to transfer the addresses I suppose.

TC:

Do you have a good optician nearby?

Have him fix you a new pair of glasses, then look at the posted list again. I have no problem seeing "Thunderchild" fourth from the bottom.

And you are an investigator of aircraft accidents? Well, our FAA boys are blind too, they can never find the cause of a crash so everything is "Pilot error."

Haw.

Sorry sir, I had you temporatily confused with Xjet. He's the investigator with the ATSB. You, not being empl;oyed there, should definitely get your glasses checked.

Hey Guys,
I have to say thanks because the advice that I receive is always right on. I now have two saitos the 100 that is in a H9Corsair and the 125 the was in a FW-190, but is now waiting for a Funtana 100. I have a ? on the 100 what should be the top RPM I have it at I broke in OK on a APC 14X8 2 blade but the 15X7 3 blade that I have for the Corsair only lets it get to about 7300-7400 RPM. I have an APC 14X8 2 blade that I broke it in with and I had it about 8900 after riching it up about 300 RPM. My ? is I really want to run a three blade what RPM should I be at???

Skillet:

There’s no reason you shouldn’t run a three bladed prop on your engine. Just be sure the diameter is big enough to reach out past the engine cowling. If the cowling is no more than 7” diameter a 14” prop should be fine – the outer part of the blades does most of the pulling.

I’m a three-bladed freak, if I find a suitable three blade prop I wont use a two bladed one. I normally fly a MAS 14x8 on my FA-120 engines, a 14x6 or maybe a 14x7 would work on your Corsair. I’d try the 14x6 first, looking for rpm around 9000 on the ground.

HTH.
