Welcome to Club SAITO !
i will have to check this out again when i get home.
The parts 150’s piston was a tad smaller then the 150 i am repairing. Didn’t really give it much thought to the difference. I just put the newer 150 head and piston on the old case.
Now if the stroke is that much different it will end up with a low competition 150. Now question there is will it be so bad that the 150 will now be a 122. And have no power or will it be close enough.
Now with the information that you all have given me I believe i was sold a 120 parts engine not a 150. Oh well
if it turns out to be a dog then i will order the 150 crank and start over.
I noted that the damaged crank is also bent internally so that would explain the broken crank pin. I don’t know if the case is damaged it was just easier to take two and make one.
Like i say i will run this engine and see how it does.
Tonight when i get home i will Measure the old piston and we all will now if i got a 120 or a 150.
Dam Ebay buy ten things and get one bad. Lol
What ever method you find easiest, the check is even easier. Bring the crank to TDC on the exhaust stroke and look for a very symetrical action on the intake and exhaust rockers as you rock back and forth from TDC.
well

There are no Saito pistons I know of that are within less than about 2mm of the 150 piston diameter. The 120 will be 2 mm smaller, the 180, 2mm larger. Not much fudge room there! The stroke should be the same on any 150 AFAIK.

Jim, you can't beat a Battery Tender for quality: https://batterytender.com/collections/chargers, 39 bucks to 685 bucks, lots of choices.
but you know I am old school, I like to be involved in things, I like the switches and gauges of the older days, and that's what I am lured to. I dislike the switches/gauges on the Battery Tenders, but still I may buy one !! because I know in the long run down the road that will be the better thing to do, they are very good chargers, my brother told me once, that I do not like change,, I guess so.
it's a bit more money but this one will do just what I want !!!!! I will be able to brag about how well it works, not how big it is LOL hee hee hee

Dave, soft Red with flat Black Rocker Covers
Pete, I like AC/DC too, they are great, it;s too bad about the broth !! a lot of energy there.. but go to YouTube and check out "Papa Chubby" the guy is like Angus, like Angus but on American Southern Rock,,, Papa Chubby , man
Jim

mine was a 1999 F250 super duty burnt umber. And it had a lot of rust on it. Plus 346,000 miles

I had a 1999 dually and want to get another one, this one showed up in your neck of the woods, but has too much rust. I did find one in Milwaukee though that I just might pull the trigger on. I need to call the credit union first to see if they will do a small loan on part of it. I want to keep some cash in reserve in case I need to put tires or other parts on it. The one I found is only RWD though, and would prefer 4WD, but what I find in similar condition and miles are slightly newer and twice the price or more.

Well it’s definitely a 120
i will still run it and see what happens.
Should be uneventful. So now i need to order a crank
sorry I really don’t want to mess with a slightly bent one, if it was for me I wouldn’t care but for someone else needs to be good.

What?
That little sin hider doesn't have a rattle.?
Oh well, you could dip it in a bucket of paint and hang it on a clothesline and the result is about the same

Here is another painted Saito that needs "touch up" frome a rattle can... Only $1200 on eBay right now!

I still can’t believe they make something for a car and it’s three times the price of a airplane engine.
What do they do different. What does a car engine have the an airplane engine doesn’t?
With that said I still like the price of the airplane engine they can keep there car engines
