Gary, the eagle has landed. It found a nice home with my diy "close enough for gov't work" Manometer. The muffler looks absolutely KILLER! Pictures don't do it justice.

BTW, the box was just laying there on the ground next to the mailbox. Think the mail lady was trying to tell me something? Lol My wife and I drive nothing but 4x4 trucks so the lane doesn't seem that bad to us. Heehee

LOL just what I was thinking LOL

you know you know, your 82 would be a good test for one of those HP Carbs with the Accelerator Pump, they make 2, one for the 61 engine and the lager one for the 120, but I can only measure the 61 Carb, hold on I will do that and compare it to the 82 and 100 carb.
BTW, the HP Carb is a slide type Carb

Sounds like you already have all the goodies to test on your 82 Jim. Slap that the 100 carb and muffler on your 82 and give the prop a flip. Maybe try it with the 82's intake manifold and use some rtv to seal to the 100 carb. That's all bolt on performance if it works.

HP 61 Slide Carb with Accelerator Pump

so accordingly to the HP part number, both the HP 61 and 120 use the same Slide Barrel, yet different Carb Bodies, so most likely the 120 has a larger ID

the HP 61 Carb's Body ID is,,,, .325",
the Slide's OD is,,,,, .334",

measuring inline to the Slide, it looks like the Slide moves (full open to full closed) only .312",

even tho the slide moves only .312", looking in the Carb from the engine's side with the slide fully open it 's a pretty big hole there..

so in the end, knowing the FA 100 Barrel is .336", what ever the area in the HP Carb could be calculated to actually be at fully open, I think it would be larger than the stock 82 Barrel ID,

but I have to order fresh fuel, I don't want to use 12y.o. fuel in my Saitos

Computers can be tough for non geeky people like me,even reading the previous posts,my head is getting all scrambled with the multitude of carb and intake tube diameters,and possible combinations of props on standard saito engines being talked about here.So it's with relief that i'm off to the york motorcycle show over here in the wheatbelt,thousands go and sometimes the car/bike park is more interesting.Hope to catch up with laid back 70's long hair steve who has a real pushbike pedal arm and cleated steel pedal for a kickstarter on his old custom framed knuckle head,carries an over shoulder canvas bag with the tools and parts to fix anything nearly,and another mate who has a harley engine squeezed into an old norton featherbed frame with roadholder forks.See if i can get a pic of that bike it's a hairy thing to ride.

If it's in a factory sealed plastic jug I'd shake the devil out of and try it. I read where one guy shook up some 6 yr fuel and it looked perfect, ran perfect too. Old fuel in metal cans I'm not so sure about, could have rust.

For anyone interested, Horizon still has 30 Saito 65 parts listed, they only show the flat top, (low compression) piston. Plenty there to freshen up a tired 65.

Metal cans are better at protecting fuel than plastic jugs. Neither is great if not tightly sealed and kept cool.

I am down to the last few cans of Fox Missile Mist fuel that I had sitting on the shelf for 35 years. Not a bad drop of fuel in the lot. All were in tin plated steel cans. The outside of the cans turned dull gray, the inside is bright and shiny.Plastic is ok for short term storage, mixing, transfering wetc. Long term, metal is better.
My field can is all metal and all connections O ring sealed. My home-mixed fuel goes in to steel five gallon cans, aside from what I take to the field. But you are dead right about rust. Any suspect can gets trashed on the spot!

According to this 115 page that is correct.

The FG-30 uses the FG-36 muffler even though it is based on the FA-180 which is 14MM threaded. The FG-36 is 15MM threaded.
