The needle is all I need if I use the original carb. I assume that the fuel nipple is on the needle assembly and I would need that also but am uncertain how many parts are involved. Because I am unfamiliar with this carb, I should probably pull it apart to see what else may be damaged. What is the recommended procedure to pull out the retaining clip that holds the barrel in, a small needle nose maybe?

a little side note here for you guys,
hey guys, I just thought I would inform you of a Vermont state law that you should know if you have a thought of visiting Vermont, in Vermont it is illegal to take your close off in public, but if you take your close off in your dwelling it is legal for you to leave your dwelling unclothed/nude and go about.
just thought here that it may be some information of interest to some of you that may be visiting Vermont this summer.

maybe you should Email or PM David McIntire and see if he has a used FA 100 Carb and Manifold ??

I'll have to do this with a Xoar 14x6: Graupner G-Sonic 14x6 Saito 82-B rpm ===9,150, idle===1,770 on 10% FUEL.

Now with Gary's custom muffler and raising the compression ratio to 10.5:1 the 82a is reaching 9600 rpm all other things being equal.

Black grease from factory
The black grease came out throughout the entire 50 minute break in run.
No sir, I got rid of the 115 as soon as the 125 came out, I'll use the stock revised 82-B muffler and the latest TurboHeader, the welded one. I seriously doubt that I have an APC 14 x 6. I did keep a couple of the 115 pictures.

Was gone to Cleveland all day, just got back home. Delivered a rather large radio transmitter , 1100 pounds worth!
If I get time I will try to post details of carb repairs bit later. Heading out to the field for a while.

That was a home made muffler from a batch I made a few months back . Same specs as a much earlier version but a different assembly technique.
A bit more involved tha simply welding. I leave a thinned lip,apply real SWAK , heat shrink interference fit the pressed in ends. I then roll crimp the connection. Very tight joint . Easy to polish without added metal finishing too.
The rpm gain over the Saito muffler sounds about right..

Hey Gary, is that a 12mm 60° curved manifold shown in your pic or maybe a 10mm? I can't find a saito 12mm one anywhere online and the factory fa82 15° manifold doesn't play nice with your end-threaded muffler. Maybe a 45° adaptor would work but I can't find one of those either.

oyou want anther 200 RPM you said, try rounding the inside bottom of your exhaust port some, the stock port has a large bevel whereby the exhaust has to flow over. rounding the bottom of the inside edge will allow the exhaust to flow faster, much like an airfoil, you don't have to do much

I re-bend the factory pipe. Maybe get some pics posted of the setup. Heat is required. I use a pair of internally threaded bars for leaverage and control.

Do you bend the manifold around a piece of round stock to keep the inside radius from kinking? Apply most of the heat to the outside radius to get it to stretch?
