The prop that seems to work good is a 17-8.
I wish I could get one in the air and play with props.
As soon as the ignition shows I will get to check that out. SrTelemaster150 has some good recommendations in prop size’s. But I like to run a little high on the RPM’s. Also the 180HC will turn a 18-6 wide around 8000.
And yes the 180 should turn a 16-8 three vary well.

Saito 180 RPM "Glow" numbers,,
you guys can go to RCU's Tach Readings page for more info on what the Saito 180 should be turning at
you will find number for the APC 17X8 to be between 8,800 to 9,600 depending of fuel and glow plug, now add ignition

I have the trigger wheel for the 180 but no Hall Effect Sensor that will fit, I'll get one though. That 18 x 6 Graupner is a big wheel.
Saito 180 with A on the right lug
Prop=====Graupner Super Nylon 16 x 8 three blade
Plug=====Fox Miracle, a well used one
Fuel====Wildcat 10% with 18% full syn.
Exhaust=Late cast muffler non re-vised
Max rpm, one click rich of lean slow down==8,340
Idle=====2,100, I rebuilt the carb, LS adjuster not fine tuned yet, just close.

I had asked for your address and got no response. My new address would be in with the pipes.
Doubt the muffler will turn up. The new owners of the old house are too lazy.
No big deal.
I may have another pair if you need them.

Hey Gary, is that a 12mm 60° curved manifold shown in your pic or maybe a 10mm? I can't find a saito 12mm one anywhere online and the factory fa82 15° manifold doesn't play nice with your end-threaded muffler. Maybe a 45° adaptor would work but I can't find one of those either.

Thanks Gary. You know, I'm not sure yet how I'm going to mount the 82 in the Strega. Probably inverted if there's room in the cowl to exit the muffler out the bottom. In that case I'd think a 90° would work better. Won't be able to get to that build for a while yet. I'm also seriously contemplating stepping to a 100 or 125 to give the Reno Racer a good kick in the pants.

Sure thing.
I also make 90 degree elbows. They are very strong, made from 7075 billet aluminum.
The Saito are well known for breakage so I went right past the next move up, 6061 and use the 7075

if you remember that video I posted of the Spitfire with the Saito 100 Inline Twin, it sure was a big air plane, your Reno should be a faster plane

FA115 SIDE mounted in a 55" cmpro midget mustang that badly needs a bath and a haircut or a holiday
Lonnie you could also look at the fa115,i'd have to check but it is much smaller than both the fa125 and fa100,sr tele has all the figures.
ps jim nicely tuned saito in the spitfire and the guy flying it handles the engine well.

I'll check into the 115. Seems like there was some reason I would skip past that one and the 120 ( too heavy) but I cant recall.

Mike, I cranked up the 180 yesterday, it started on the 1st flip, it's real torquer and smooth. I ordered a new cast/revised muffler for it.
