I believe Jim Cline passed away in 2009, then Mrs. Cline sold the business to Christian Traders who in turn passed it on to Albury. He would give you one free diaphragm a year. Glow fuel is hard on the diaphragms, they would last about 4 years when used with gasoline or Davis Diesel fuel.

I have the early 50 reassembled using it's original piston, ring, rod, crankshaft and cam. I replaced one valve with a used valve. The one I replaced had an uneven seat on the valve itself, I had a couple used ones that are perfect. New Boca Bearings, new lifters and new gaskets are about it. I'll use an original style muffler. I found a Bolly 11.5 x 6 prop. The why of it is that a 12 x 6 is perfect for the 56, an 11 x 6 is perfect for the 40/45, so the 50 gets an 11.5 x 6. That's my logic on that.
PS, it also gets a new Glo Devil plug for Saitos and Enya..

Those FA50 engines make peak horsepower at much higher rpm than any other Saito. Light prop loads and static rpm around 11250 works well according to the sceptreflight review below. Peak hp was seen at 12300 rpm! 11x6 or 12x6 is recommended. This is why I want one to try out, would love to hear a Saito scream like that!

I certainly can, I've done that often enough to know there is never any difference. But will do it again. And the Fox Miracle too.

i use what ever I can get my hands on. Even the ones that i thought were bad that I have tossed in my box and I will dig them out later and put them back in and wonder why I changed it.

I keep my glow plugs organized by type and use in zip loc bags. There is one labeled "break in". It has assorted types. Once idling becomes erratic on a good running engine the plug gets recycled into my break in bag. As far as I can remember I've never burned out a plug in a good running/broke in engine; I never run them that lean and keep up with the health of my fueling systems.
FYI, my organizational skills have been directly proportional to my loss of memory. These days I'm becoming very organized.

I always get hammered for saying this but nobody has ever proven me wrong, but when it comes to four stroke plugs there just isn't any stand out unless it would be the Fox Miracle Plug. Put it in any engine and it works very well. It's also the best medicine anyone ever gave to an MDS engine.

Pretty similar here. A bad plug event is extremely rare. The Enya #3, OS "F" and Merlins all behaved well.

And , yes, you would love that YS for your style of flying.
The fuel system is first class.
Crunch, these are the mounts I have on hand. The middle one is Swiss cheesed but looks like a fit.

Have a real good look at the landing gear block on that Rascal 110. Can't say if they changed them on later versions but I just saw one pop out on Saturday. The block is thick but only the same size as the mating gear footprint. It is barely glued into cutouts in the fuselage sides with two short tri-stock pieces glued on top.
If it is that way on yours, you may think about refining it a bit.

Thanks Gary, I'll check it out, Sig is so far cold shouldering me on the crushed cowl top, Becky says the tech is gong to contact me but he doesn't. So far she has sent him an E-mail and then a reminder E-mail.
