I have never forgotten in about 1990 when I was learning rc I had a Tower Trainer 60 RTC with a Fox 74 on, it. A USAF Colonel asked if he could borrow it for a gliding contest, he won by several minutes. It was very light being covered in Colorite Fabric. I'll check the name that might not be exactly correct.

Correction: it was Coverite 21st Century Fabric.

I have two fully run in Saitos engines, a 56 and an 82 that run too rich in the mid range. Any leaner on the lsn and they just choke out on throttle up. Anyone tried rotating the spraybar on a Saito to clean up the midrange, like on a Super Tigre/Como 2 stroke?

They're both still too rich at midrange when the engine is at absoltue peak but of course I'd never run them there. When the needles are properly adjusted for flight they both miss at midrange. Am I the only one that's had this problem? Maybe the previous owners seated the lsn too hard and bell mouthed the spraybar a tiny bit? I can't see anything wrong, maybe it's time to mic some things.

I would think it's not a lot for a new engine, but again, it's just my thoughts for a ne engine

what glow plug, you may, (but may not) get it lower with the K&B 4420 Wonder 4 st Plug

I would say I am bad at the engine care I have three planes in the truck been bouncing around in there for weeks. I think today I should get them out and oil and prep for winter
LOL a funny thing you say "prep for winter", I was going to post this>>

guys, this will work best for 2 strokes (sorry Pete), check out my link!!!, yes yes it maybe an OS part LOL, it's a must for 2st. all you do is put a hose on it and screw it into the plug hole on your head, add a good amount of oil to your engine and turn your engine over with a starter, repeat.. it will clean out any used fuel and used oil for the winter storage,,,, slick ??

side note: I just thought of this an hour ago

Jim, i think your drinking the same brew i was on last year just had a few brews myself watching the american roger penske team win our bathurst king of the mountain 1000km v8 supercar race with a mustang.

Dave it doesn't matter which cylinder you do first, and the factory settings are very close to optimum. Once you peak the first cyl i go back 10 clicks and then peak the second cyl and back 10 clicks, then repeat each side again as max rpm increases slightly and back off 5 clicks each side, your carbs should be in sync now and you can sneak up on it from there.

ps as a guide to max ground rpm in flying tune with your saito fa182 dave, if you have a mas classic 18x6 and running 10% you should pull between 8500 and 8700.

I am pretty sure have a MA Classic 18 x 6, I like those for their smooth running. Thanks Pete

The crankshaft for the 82-a should come from Macgregor's tomorrow.

PS, those V-8's you mentioned above, are they 500 CC's with 1,000 hp?

Hey Lonnie, a friend passed some Saito parts on to me, an assortment of gaskets, cams, lifters, rocker arms, a bag of about 10 piston rings and I think 4 pistons and one 82-a crank case and one 82- carb. I slowly bought the rest of the parts over time. I couldn't have 1/3rd of an engine laying around. I can't possibly get my money back, but hey, I have another Saito.

Do you remember the Irish singer Lonnie Donegan?

The King of Skiffle, never heard of him. Before my time I guess.

Are all those parts for 82's? I could use a piston and ring for an 82, rings and tappets for a 56 and 62 if you want to get some money back.

Oh, and an SAI5035 cam

They are for various Saitos, let me go through the tappets, if I can find some with out flat edges they're yours. I may have some 56 rings.

Lonnie Donegan, AKA Anthony James Donegan, I guess he figured that Lonnie was a little more Irish.

Thanks Dave. If you list the parts you have for a 45, 56, 62 or 82 I'll buy a bunch of them from you. Good way to help me and offset the cost of your piecemeal 82.

Does your chewing gum lose it's flavor on the bedpost overnight?

Old Lonnie was popular about the same time as Frank Ifield. Pete's folks probably have a few of Franks recordings laying about .

Lonnie, I will see what I can do.

I was named after my German great uncle Alonzo Willenbacher. He went by Lonnie and so I was named by my full German mother. As a child she played in bomb craters in West Germany. Perhaps I got my sensibility from her. Haw haw.
