Speaking of gifts thanks to Jim I now have a Saito .82 in possession and she is a beauty! For Christmas my oldest son bought me a spinner from Sarik Hobbies in the UK to fit a 69" Brian Taylor Spitfire 1a. Looking at the plans the Spit calls for a .70 to .80 4 cycle (Class act he didn't even mention a 2 cycle engine.) so that gave me ideas. The spinner has been around a while the label taped to it still says Traplet on it and it definitely will need polishing. The spinner set came with a 97 mm diameter back plate, 75 mm tall cone, a 14" hex nut (Measuring 1 3/8" long or 35 mm if you prefer), and a 50 mm countersunk screw in need of having the threads chased. Now that I have bored you to tears, has anyone here put a scale spinner on a Saito .82 before? I was thinking maybe a ready made adapter like a TruTurn might work, any suggestions guys?
, and your welcome, I was just passing along the friendship, about that spinner needing a polish, you could polish it on the engine if you could get it started withOUT a prop on

I had to re-register after the changes, am now the User Name you see, with the CHI unit you can creep past the sensor and it will spark. You're right, the RinkyDinXL unit has not made me a fan yet. Remember that retarding the timing makes engines run hotter than advanced. Later timing means that the combustion process is exposed to more naked cylinder wall.

Just as weird as it was when it logged me off and would not let me reset a password to log back on.

OK, I ordered an APC 12 x 5 to run on the Saito 60 twin, I broke my own rule to do that.
Not many of the Remote Glow adapters will fit the OS-f, the Sonic-Tronics will and the Sullivan will with a little jiggling.

The Sullivan fits an OS F plug very snug, yes. I like them. I've not tried the Sonic Tronics version.
Looks like Sonic Tronics offers a standard 5/8" adapter and a 1" adapter for deep recessed glow plugs. They offer the complete remote kits and also offer the plug adapters separately. Very cool!
Tip: The little angle bracket is flimsy on the Sullivan and can bend over time, especially if I press too hard while inserting the glow ignitor. I sand the inside radius of the bracket a build up a solder fillet on that inside radius just at the two outside edges. That trick almost doubles the strength of the bracket.

OK am I being suspicious or does the Sullivan look like the Sonic Tronics the only difference Sullivan assembles it for you and charges accordingly?

I use the short ones on everything. Simply solder a brass strip on the side and bend the end to form a tab.

At this point I need a NIB Saito FA 82 to match the other one I just purchased on line to bring back my Top Flire B-25 to life.
Anyone has one??
