Has anyone heard from Pete? I was wondering how he weathered the fire storms.

Once the ring re-seats it should idle lower. Still, it runs smoother than my 82 engines.

I make my own cables too, and with nothing but gold plated pins and heavy gauge wire. That pcb for wye cables sounds neat, got a link?

I got them at the Toledo show, but I will see if I can remember who I bought them from.

I'll E-Mail him again, he still can't log in for some reason.

I'll report on the quality of the Y connectors.

And now the rain!

He is sorely missed, a key lynchpin in our unseemly group.

hey Saito guys,
I received Piglet today, he's great. the wife loves him,,,, me too I guess LOL. he was hand painted, he must be worth a lot of money, only 1 in the world. because he was painted I have decided to put him in the Midget Mustang so the used fuel wont get to him. he does have an old leather cap and goggles, but I don't think he's a P-40 Piglet, more of a racer he is.
I forgot to get the wife to take a photo, so I will get a couple tomorrow. I got to buy a camera.

Jim

OK, here are the photos, as I said I am going to put him in my Midget Mustang so the fuel will not destroy the paint. in the photos you can see he is a bit too tall, I will have to cut him down to fit the canopy (no big deal). I like the window photo.
every one loves him,, ever my sister in-law

the digital camera really shows up the lines from the printer, but they are really not that intense ( < lack of a better word) to the eye

Jim

A question for the group. I'm sure that this has been discussed at length here, but the Net is very slow out here where I live and RCU takes a good deal of time to load and search.
So. How are the Saito Engines working out with the Gas conversion? I have a 150 that has spark ignition and was working very good when I put it in storage. Time for another project and I want to add the Gas carb.
For those that have done it, how is the conversion working out?

I received this from Pete last night: Hi dave, could you let the boys know that being so dry we have some big fires now. The recent big fires were on the east coast, we are on the west coast (western australia) our state is WA locally known as "wait awhile". I hope geri's health improves steadily, it must be a worry.
ps please let the boys know i've missed insulting them very much

Thanks John, and Welcome, gasoline conversions have not for the most part been well received with this particular crowd. I think some have experimented enough to have some knowledge on the subject and will share. Quite a few, myself included have installed CH Ignition units but run glow fuel @ 30 degrees btdc. I have three engine set up with CHI, an early Saito 80 with 15.5 to 1 compression, an early Saito 150 with 11.24 to 1 compression and a 115.

An early 65 with the metered carb, I almost forgot this one.

Saito 65 metering slot.

I will make sure he's a sleep before I start cutting

here's a story for Pete, we have this 11y.o. yeller tiger cat, he is actually orange with yellow strips. hmm, maybe that's yellow with orange strips, hard to tell. any hoo he is a serous cat, I mean he don't put-up with much before the claws come out and in his 11 years he has never, never played during the day, he only plays late at night. he's big too, he weighed 18 pounds when 4 years old. well guess what, he loves Piglet, that's right, he just loves him, I had to make sure Piglet was put away where the cat can't get to him. his name is Milo Milo, we call him Milo

.
edit, yes he is on the table, most people do not like that. but I tell you, after 10 years, yes 10 years of trying to kep the cat off the table I gave up, I blame that on the wife LOL.
he loves his pillow too, he uses it a lot.
