I would have hooked up the ignition but one of the boots is broke. So I ran it on glow. The low speed was screwed in almost shut on the cylinder that was not firing Once I opened it up it started to run. I thought seeing how this engine was set up and had run that it was ok, but as usual I should have set it right from the start then adjusted.
my question is what is the obsession with turning the low speed in so far. How ever it did allow me to perches a darn good engine for a fare price.
I know now that I will put this engine in my Sun-dancer. It should fly the hex out of it. Not to self I will need to bring a tanker of fuel to Sig this year so I can fly the Sun dancer more then once. Lol

thanks. Quick dry assemble to check fit. I found a few pieces I need to resize or tweak, but overall everything is looking good.

Thank you! I already have the engines laying out and waiting. I have been watching them travel along with a box from Gary. I think Gary wrote something derogatory about USPS on the box or they don't like the color or something. The box from Gary got stuck in Pittsburgh for 5 days then spent two days in Dallas fr a total of 11 days travel. We have two of our grandsons staying with us for the week, one from here in the city and one from Kansas. The wife started getting sick yesterday afternoon and one grandson had me up at 500 AM throwing up out of both ends. The weather forecast says rain all week and the yard is a mud hole. Everywhere we could take them to help with the boredom is closed because of the virus. I think its going to be along week. At least my business trip was cancelled for next week. (Where is the beating your head against the brick wall emote when you need it?)

Bought an FA-65 off of rcg to see what all the hoopla is about. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be the high compression version. It has the air bleed carb, matte finished rocker covers and a contoured cylinder base. The engine may be a version 1 or version 2, the muffler is version 3. The cam housing has extra thickness on the side. Pics on sceptre flight don't show this cam housing on any of the 65 versions.

Gary, Dave, do you have a side view pic of your 65 hc?

I had a thought, I wonder if the glow fuel will sanitize your hands when bench running glow engines?

Well if running a Castor blend, at the very least it will give the virus the schizt.

I'm not sure. Ethyl alcohol is what's used in the best hand sanitizers. IPA is good for killing bacteria but much less affective at killing viruses. Methanol has a toxicity, so maybe.

Yes, a peek in the glow plug hole is all it takes to determine if it has a high compression lumpy bump top piston. I'll be tearing down the whole engine anyway, as I do for all my preowned purchased engines.

No, there's an external feature on the side of the cylinder I'm looking for. It is on this hc 65 as advertised on rcg (see pic) If you look you will see an outward casting profile on the cylinder mounting flange that does not appear on 65 pics I posted earlier. The pics on sceptre flight of the version 2 hc 65 are too poor to see this profile, if it exists on their sample.

Does yours have this profile?

I'm only interested in seeing pics of the hc version. Just wondering if all hc versions have the lump at the base of the cylinder.

I had two that had the pop up piston that did NOT have the bulge. It is possible that there were three different compression ratios however. I have dumped all but a few Saitos in the last few months (about 36 of them) I only have one 65 left. I do have a few of the pop up pistons for the 65 and 80. Also have the dual plug 325 radial cylinder that I am using to make the FA-65 DP/CDI Methanol burner. Plan to wind up with only one to three Saitos max.
