The greater Kansas City area has a population of over 2M. The only hobby shop I've found there that carries RC stuff is Hobby Haven in Overland Park MO. As with most hobby shops these days most of what they have is geared toward electric, Eflite foamies etc. Some building supplies there.

There's a nice little RC shop in Springfield MO. called Sleeth Hobby, they have some ARFs, a few kits and all kinds of RC hardware. There's always a few complete RC planes on consignment. I bought a H9 P51 complete with Saito 82 from there.

Hobby Town is well, Hobby Town. Not much for us there.

I just ran an early 120-s with a G-Sonic 15 x 8, I started out with a Xoar 15 x 8, ran it up to 6,600 and was leaning the HS needle. All of a sudden the engine accelerated but tach remained at 6,600. Luckily it was still rich enough that it didn't over speed, it had ground out the back of the prop and the front too.

A little side note, I forgot to put a piece of fuel line on the vent, even at 4,000 rpm the carb drank the stuff as it came out.


I ran the 12-s on the right today, with the left muffler on it. The right muffler is a fixer upper I don't entirely trust.

Bob,

Got the Fromeco about an hour ago. Found a cold joint on the quad op-amp chip. Re-flowed the solder on all legs of that chip and the tach is now working well . I will return ship tomorrow,

I tighten those wood props until I see the prop washer begin to sink into the face of the prop.

I had given a look myself, but obviously my eye is not trained anywhere near as good as yours is. It'll be great to have that tach back in working order. I've had it for years. I'll nickname it Lazarus, for being brought back from the dead!!

Is it possible to erase a week from one's life? This week has been absolutely worthless. Sick Monday, Tailer flat Tuesday, wrong tire arrived Wed, tire shop closed today for who knows what reason. No work accomplished this week.

Took the P51/ FG21 combo to the field yesterday, 15 knot 90° crosswind never died off so didn't fly. Back to the field today and plagued by electrical gremlins so no flights again.

Here are some pics and a video of some tails. Consider a Big Boy tail with a longer, larger diameter outlet pipe. The bigger OD/ID allows for more and larger portholes in the baffle. Sounds great and looks nice.

Found a replacement muffler for the 180, not the original can, the new cast type. Now I finally have a use for for Gary's BA oversized tail piece!

I have a cast front but it is 13mm for the FA-125/FG-20-21
Need to tap it out to 14mm so I can pass it along with the 150.
Do you need the thru bolt? (Notice I didn't bank if you needed the long screw) I picked up a few if you need some.

Thanks Gary, now I have some ideas to to shoot for. You sent me a few long bolts in the box of goodies. And blue tinted gonads to go with them.

The Robin Hood 25 came yesterday, a very nice kit. It's made in Dayton, Ohio.

Made in Dayton eh. Sounds like some of the World Engines people may be involved in the kit production. The original came from Ohio too IIRC.

I was over on Old School's website checking out the Robin Hood and decided to take a look at what else they got. To my surprised they redesigned Ken Willard's Sunday Fighters the Bristol Spadport! I just built one of these for the grandsons, they certainly did a bang up job on improving it too! I hope they bring out a Fokker Heinschmitt next, that would be the one I want to buy!.

Have you got one? I have several second hand OS engines around .23 to .28 size if I remember correctly. I don't know how retro you want to go but I can take pictures for you and send the engine along if you want.
