Great day at the field today with the P51. I finally got everything right enough to fly. Replacing the 6V NiMh pack with a 6.6V 26650 A123 LiFe pack made a big difference. The FG21 ran better than ever. A lot of positive comments from the old fogey peanut gallery crew on how smooth the engine sounded at all rpm.
Nice bundle of materials acdii. Lots of fun coming up. Once you get some balls you can bend your pipe.

I would like to commend all those who were sorely tested but resisted making any off color remarks about the discuss of the items mention in the post above. There I just planted every possible remark I may or may not have just been thinking in your collective heads without earning the wrath of the mods!

I would be forewarned so I could brace myself and steady my nerves before opening the box. Hmm... I could protect the power grid by keeping it wrapped in brown paper and then hide it in an airplane with a full cowling camouflaged with a Saito decal. The engine would of course have to be installed in secret or any Saitos present that might witness it would need to be blindfolded. 
I can call the airplane a stand off scale to keep any other fliers from looking too close.

Wish me luck, have to go up and replace a square of shingles before the weather turns. Supposed to get rain and strong winds, AGAIN! Same freaking direction as Tuesday when 70 MPH winds ripped part of my roof up.

I have safety meetings with the crew before going up high on roofs, scaffolds etc. That way they all know if they fall they're fired before they hit the ground.

I had a friend right out of high school who got a job on a roofing crew. He was on a 3 story apartment building when he slid off and landed on concrete. He got lucky he only broke one ankle and sprained the other one.

Another box on the way. 10mm 12mm 13mm 14nnm 16mm CS1045 hex stock. A big block muffler tail, props and other goodies. Care when unpacking , a Saito 60 Twin decal in there too

Roof patched where I could not tack down for now, still have a few places I need to pull the shingles and replace them. 2 hours on the roof and I ache all over. Getting too old for this schiznit. Going to go replace the tubes with LED now in my shop and play with my Saitos.

Mike. when I read that post I had a grin on my face, wondering what the other guys would say. then my thoughts turned to Pete

oops, my OS 70SZ Heli engine set up for a plane, it's going in a GP Shoestring. that is if I ever can figure out how to fit a muffler in it.

We still have lakes everywhere where there aren't supposed to be any, pine trees falling over all over the place.
I managed to keep dry and build the left half of the Robin Hood 25 wing and 75% of the right half. It's a great kit, so precise.

I emailed the Old School about their version of the Ken Willard Bristol Spadport Sunday Fighter to see if the plan on making the German version. Mark answered my emails pronto and is really nice guy. I plan on ordering the Heinschmitt when it is released if I'm working again.
