Sounds good Pedro. But if I don't get home and cook the rack of lamb I have marinating, Sue will THROW me to Texas, with all my junk in tow lol. She gets a bit hangry when I stay at the field too long trying to get a cold blooded Saito to fire in 10 degree temps.
Neither of them are happy with me today. The Saito wouldn't even burp that fridged alky today


Boy Five minutes of that was about e nuff But the 3S Saito started easy.😬

Conversely, there is a very nice PT17 in El Paso for sale on the net right now...🤔

I sure hope so! My 9 year old grandson went to a EAA/AMA event and now has a youth membership card from both. He thinks the AMA card means he can now go flying with grandpa. I finished this Ken Willard Sunday Fighter Bristol Spandport for him to fly. My old flying buddy gave me a used Goldberg Tiger 60 with a K&B .61 in nose in need of a couple small covering repairs and some radio equipment installed so we could have three to fly. I may need to take down my old SIG Kadet LT40 and get it back into shape too.
If he takes to flying this summer I'll give him my AeroStar 40 kit with a Saito .50 (You got to start them off right when they are young! ) and he can learn to build too.

I agree totally with Hijynx. Just sold my ladt Gemini two years ago. I have owned three. The 160 in my Sig Clipped wing was a brute, I had that plane on floats for over 20!years. Never had any reason to consider OBG. Likewise with my flying buddy Dave. He ran a couple of the 300 on several planes. No OBG, never missed a lick. Great engines. Just don't overspeed a bronze connecting rod!

So after two weeks looking at this and coming up with a plan, I finally got the tank/battery/OBG tray figured out. If you look close you can see a certain orange RX that someone sent me being put to good use.

I’ll have a few more once I finish making the Y harnesses, needs three in the fuse. In the meantime, my printer arrived Wednesday. And I got it all up and running yesterday, scanned in a few plane plans and printed out a couple.

Still run flat track classics at Wausean Ohio. Second weekend after the 4th of July. Biggest old motorcycle rally and swap meet in the Midwest. Love to see that old iron kickin' up dirt into the stands!
Except last year that wasn't 😞

Been going ti Wauseon for decades. Great racing, with so many great sounds! We always camp out there. Love the county fairrgrounds venue too Also try to make Mid Ohio with a side trip to Ashland 1/2 Mile. Been to Lima a fre times when tickets come our way.

Dave, thank you so much for the 60T parts! Everything is fine except for the right exhaust valve seat. Looks like the previous owner ruined the valve seat by lapping it. Tried both valves and no joy.

Anyone have a good 60T cylinder?

A Seniorita is easy to build, fairly tough little plane too. Thing is, it's not very aerobatic and for some very easy to tire of as skill levels advance past basic maneuvers. I learned on a Seniorita (club rules) and quickly advanced to the LT-40. Flew the LT-40 the rest of that summer, the next season too and it was still a more capable flyer than I was! Such a good design.

I have a LT-40 it is a great airplane even with a .40 on it like I built it. One more thing you have to take in consideration is the attention span of a hyper 9 year old. The AeroStar 40 is a quick build compared to a Seniorita and it has one more advantage, its paid for! Flight wise I would say the AeroStar 40 is as good if not better than the LT-40.

The parts listing shows different part numbers for left and right cylinders. How are they different? I haven't measured them but at a glance they appear to be the same.

Little difference either way. Some instructors get all indignent about students starting out on three channel planes. Seems to actually induce apoplexy in some "master" instructors. Many students however would and could stand to spend more time over-learning a basic trainer before taking on the challenges of the second plane. (Shows up in many of them years later LOL).

Yes, of course, I realize the downsides of "bored'" "lost interest" .

From the building and framing, the Seniorita affords or should afford some broader building experiences than a sheet build plane.

Most important of all is just taking the first step, Great builders and fine pilots spring from diverse backgrounds.

The first build should be the easiest and most straight forward, least amount of mistakes that can be made kit. I had my LT-40 completely ready to fly in 2 weeks, mostly evenings. That included modifying the wing and making it a tail dragger. Modified the LT-40 is a blast to fly, I still fly it the most out of all my planes.

Can't come close at all to agreeing with a blanket statement like that. I had thought similarly up until about 35 years ago when my youngest son picked out and built his first kit.
Different folks have different needs.

Seen the same thing with electronics projects and metalworking projects. I always have more fun, learn more and often the best final outcome when in a bit over my head.

Just to see what interest there is, I posted an ad on the site for the plans services. The hardest part of it is figuring the shipping costs. Looks like a 2 page set of Top Flight Corsair plans would cost about $9 ground to LA from here. I should probably order a bundle of USPS tubes so I can get exact weights.
