But nobody busted him for thread pollution LOL
I used that 4/0 to make 20 ft jumper cables for the construction equipment me and my brother used to run. A must for 24 volt starting systems.
Riddle me this... What has an alluring patina with age that started out bright and beautiful. Is sometimes temperamental and hard to start, uses a little alcohol , and satisfies the soul idling or running hard?

Hey Aaron

Don't know for sure but it sounds a lot like my neighbor describing his girlfriend.

Super close in a way Gary.. Two correct answers....The Gypsy Queen that sits on the throne beside me and Dave's big block Saito (still on the deceased Claude.)

Neat stuff. Humans do such cool things with the macro computers between the ears.
So are they actually counter rotating or a set rotating counterclockwise?

Yessir, contra-rotating props via a planetary gear or spur gear transmission. You only have to flip the outer prop to start the engine.

Aaron,

Here is a model built by a local modeler using real-live, functional contra-rotating props.
The builder was a fellow club member at the time.He designed and made the drive boxes.
The plane was flown by yet another club member . It was a real show stopper at the Toledo RC Expo as well.
Enjoy

Thanks Gary, I don't want one quite that bad. Below is a shot of my son, Little Dave and myself at Custer Park a few years ago. I am wearing an RCU hat. He was riding a Yamaha YZF 1000 with the cross plane crank that day, I was on my Sporty. He is a fellow gearhead and can fix just about anything. He is fascinated by Saito engines and their simplicity and is impressed by their power. Below is a Saito 62 and 65 side by side, I am going to take thsat shot again with the 62's vent removed so the difference can be seen.

6' 5" versus 5' 9"

The difference between first and second in Top Gun can be a razor thin margin. As fickle as a coin toss.
Dave Pinegar is quite a flier. He was on the Futaba Team for quite a while. Known him since 1980, a fellow club member and we worked together for a few years. We often flew together at work during lunch breaks. There was a huge open area right next to our shop.
George Maiorana has done some amazing builds. The gearboxes on the Bear were a real treat. A lot of original design and fabrication work in that plane. The plane is still around, owned by another local.

It would take me 45 years to make all those parts.

For fun I'm going to attempt to make a bronze lower end bushing for some unimportant engine.

SAE 660 bronze, suitable for bearings, .5" diameter, 12" length. $20.80, free ship

I've never run a 100Ti but can say my 200Ti runs wonderfully on methanol and CDI.
In my experience it wiill run even smoother on gas once converted.
