The G60 Saito's were sold in the 70's in the US at Hobby Shack stores. They made a marine and an air cooled version. These were long before the four stroke Saitos came out.

Doug,

Check out the site below for on board glow systems. I used one for a 1.80 and was impressed with the system.

Doug, figure 2 on page 5 shows a very vague pic. of the pump connections.

Jim, I have the three cylinder version for my .90 triple. It's a quality unit.

Hobbsy,

I like the McDaniel units also. It is nice that it can be adjusted to come on and any throttle setting you choose.
It also allows for a better idle. Very good onboard glow system.

I bought three of the McDaniel units a short while ago. Haven't used them as yet, but going to soon.

I'm designing a new test stand. One that will accomodate the Saito radials and OS/Magnum twins in fine style.

I bought the McDaniel units because I have always been satisfied with their products, and, they are in the USA.

Have you decided which model will be graced with the Saito .90 triple? I went to order one a while back and they were out of stock.

I think that would be a neat engine for a Senior Telemaster with a butched front end.

I knew somebody here had one![8D]

I wonder what happened to our buddy Bruce? (loughbd) It was almost as much fun going back and forth with him as it is with Dar

That should be nice on the Flying King. I've seen one fly with a Saito 80.

Society of Antique Modelers, www.antiquemodeler.org. BTW most of the old timer designs are wonderfully suited to four stroke engines!

Ah, an equally good choice for providing a home for the little Saito .90 triple.

Nah... I like little 40 size planes mostly. There easy to move around, and they use alot less fuel. I may do a 1/3 scale Pitts someday, but it will be on gas so I can fly it on penny's.

The McDaniel glow driver is what I think I was looking for. I knew someone had to make one that ran on 4.8 volts or someone had to make a regulator that would go down to 1.5 volts. Now I can run LiPo’s on the glow driver and the receiver and shouldn’t have to add a bunch of weight to the airframe and still have plenty of amps.
Thanks for the Help,
Doug

I just started putting together my new Pitts 40 ARF tonight. It should be pretty nice with the 56 up front. Im sending the cylinder/head for the 80 to Clarence in Sunland tomorrow for the glow plug insert, so im in pretty good shape now. The 80 will go on the my Super Skybolt.
Here's what the Pitts looks like so far...

Welcome to the forum, Jim. I believe that blw is keeping track of the member numbers now. You will probably see a post from him soon.

I added another Saito to my hangar - [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SAIE125A]Saito 1.25[/link]

It's going to go on my Edge - [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SEA4000]Seagull Edge 540[/link]

I am replacing the OS 91 Surpass that is currently on my Edge. I want more GIDDYUP when I throttle up.

I only hope I went large enough! [sm=tongue_smile.gif]

That is probably a good combination. You will like the .56 when it gets broken in. No problems and great sound.

You are #510.

I bought a Saito 100 to put in my new Great Planes 1/4 scale RV-4, but alas, it won't fit without butchering the cowl. I'm looking for suggestions for a sport plane that can use the 100 without a lot of chopping in the nose area. All suggestions welcome.

Larry,

What kind of sport plane do you like to fly? There are many out there with or without cowlings. For general funfly the Sig Four Star is a good plane. Have you looked at the many ARF's listed at Tower Hobbies?

Birman, if you are looking at a Warbird that flys like a sport plane and want to conceal the engine, check out the P-40 from H9.
