RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Barry, Geri is a serious Betty Boop collector, so I can't go wrong buying her Betty Boop salt and pepper shakers, I even got her a set with BB on a Harley, imagine that. A couple of Boop salt shakers is good for at least one Saito.

That's the way to do it!!!!! Very smart. Beats sneaking stuff into the shop any day.
The adapter sounds like a good solution.

Hmmm Did you have to cut the beam?? to get it to point down like that. I'm going to use some flex tubing i have left over from my Macs tuned pipe to extend it. I guess the K&S tubing is all metal. Didnt want to mess up the turbo muffler But criping anything to it. Do you happen to have a picture of how its running down through there. Kinda hidden buy the Cheeks or the prop i guess but i definetly like how its positioned that way all the goo will go out the bottom which is perfect..

Yes, I bored a hole almost the same size as the K&S tubing, 21/32 I think, its a perfect fit in the hole. I used a Forstner bit down until the spur came out of the bottom, then went up through so there would be no splinters. If I could have used my drill press I could have gone all the way one way but the hand held electric drill would have busted through. I'll get a pic. tomorrow.

Looks like this to me..
The rear-mounted throttle arm on most 4-stroke engines can make the servo linkage quite difficult. The DuBro “4-Stroke Throttle Linkage†can make the servo connection more convenient. A typical setup is shown to the left.

Not exactlly the Same but probably serves the same purpose..

Hey Guys,
How many of you have the Saito FA-220? I am considering the engine for a project and I would like to know how the engine is performing. I see allot on the forum about other models but not much on the 220. Any comments are welcome.

I just use a regular servo arm and use a 1/4 long piece of fuel line for a bushing in the splined hole, it works smooth as silk and no slop. I chose the wrong pics for this, the carb connection is hard to see. The arm in your pic. is a Dubro heavy duty servo arm.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I am sure that ypu guys are tired of hearing about all these problems, but I also need some help. Today I broke in a new Saito 82. Everything went great. Ran 4 tanks of fuel through it. I could only get it to idle at around 3000 RPM's. Hopefully with more time on the motor, it will idle down without killing. Now for my big problem. I purchased a new, never ran before 150s. The seller has had it on his shelf for 1 1/2 years. I opened the HS needle valve 4 1/2 turns and fired it up. It started right away. I noticed NO smoke coming out of the exhaust. It would only run at half throttle and above. I kept turning the hs needle open to rich, but would not respond. It would not blow smoke or fuel out the exhaust. I kept turning the needle valve open, a few clicks at a time, until the needle valve fell out. It kept on running. I killed the engine right away. It was getting hot. It ran for approximately 2-3 minutes under this condition. I hope I did not hurt anything. Any clues on what might be wrong with it?? I never had any problems with my other Saito's. I have 2-82's, a 125, a 150, and a 180. All run perfect
Any replys would be appreciated. Mike
