hi, i have a saito .82GK. engine runs goods, except for at a few clicks above idle, revs start rising and falling again, like it going lean then rich lean then rich... what could this be? also the throttle arm can be pushed in about 3-4mm when at idle, i noticed when i went to adjust low end, arm pushed in a little, engine went lean and conked out! the spring inside seems too weak. why do they build them with so much slop in the throttle arm? That's definatly somthing that can be improved!

At w.o.t. i peaked then backed her off 500rpm. for the low end i just went in a bit at a time till it started to hesitate, then went back from there. only happens when i am a few cliks above idle and when engine gets to op temp. am i too lean on the bottom end?

Your throttle linkage may be pushing in and then pilling out your throttle arm just above idle?

That's what i'm thinking! is there a way to stop this? or reduce the amount of slop in the throttle? maybe a stronger spring in the carby?

Here you go, friction free, slop free, far enough from firewall nothing binds, no side thrust on carb barrel. Almost no trouble to make.

That looks good! thanks for that! my set up is a little different, but i get what youve done and think i can do a simular thing! have others had the same problem before, if so how did you go about fixing this? just want to get more ideas off everyone!

what about using ball links for the connections? i use ball links on my dl-50 cause that is also sensitive around idle and it works great! might have to do a simular setup on the saito! any thoughts?

You can get the little ones . I use them and carbon rod. I see other with HD mini style also.

I guess you got the hooded and swivel . I use a hooded but will go to the 2/56 swivels as the hooded ones are tight.

Yeah, I use small Dubro ball links on Saito throttles. They are very small, weigh next to nothing, and they work great!

Here are the ball links that I have used.

I'm sure the others would work well too, but I sometimes use those for control surface links.

The little 2-56 ball links are plenty robust for a throttle, and weigh practically nothing.

The only kicker with the ball links is that they take up room where you may not have any. However where you can use them they are smooth and can handle angles if any are necessary.

Yes , Im finishing it up this week. Very Nice! Turbo Header and Cline should be here just in time engine is all nice and broke in now.
.82a's work perfect in these size planes.

I guess you could almost say its like going from 15% to 30% using one of these ? Im taching 11,000 on my .82 with it on a 14x4w .Others are reporting mid 10,000's if that.

i have the extreme flight extra also! just got it and have not flown it yet. this is what my .82 is on. i mouted the rudder servo and elevator servo in the back of plane for balance and put the rec. batt where the fuse cut out is behind rudder servo mount. still had to add 35gr weight to get it to balance. did you mount your throttle servo where recomended in manual?

Yep, its up under the motor box, I made a battery tray for the RX pack and regulator right behing the Pull/Pull rudder. Im going to throw another elevator servo on it though as I feel the joiner is a little flexable. Still I love the Extra . Im sure the Sukhoi is going to be every bit as good if not better.
The first time I locked into a harrier with the Extra I melted awsome tracking on IMAC also.
Seal the canopy on it from getting oil up in it.
