Hobbsy.. What's going on with the page numbering on this thread? Last couple of days the pages were in the 85o's no today they are back in the 550's. Just curious. Tom

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Hi guys. 100% Enya here. Need advice. I've had a-lot of experience with engines of all kinds but I thought you might be willing to share any advice you might have regarding Enya 1.55-4C. I was fortunate enough to obtain a wonderful 1.55 from a fellow in Oregon, who i like to think is now a friend. The engine is new, purchsed in 01/2000. I know that the rockers are somewhat fragile in the area of the adjustment screws. Anything I should know before I fuel this baby. She's going to start life with a Frank Bowman piston ring. I plan on breaking-in on Sig 10% nitro and 25% lube(2/3 castor and 1/3 Klotz synthetic. I intend to run 25:1 and 0% nitro after break-in. It has sat for for the past eight years and I have "pre-lubed" with a product called G-96 Gun Treatment which is an excellent moisture displacer and lube. I'll do a complete teardown due to the Bowman ring intallation so she should go together in fine shape.
Whatcha think?
Thanks in advance,
Bill

Thanks BLW.
Hobbsy: I am not a big fan of the search system here on RCU either. I use google to search through just rcuniverse. If you havent tried this its quite easy.
Just say I want to find Saito 180 on rcuniverse you just type into the google search bar:
Saito 180 site:www.rcuniverse.com
That will force google to only search rcu. Handy. And I personally find it easier to sort through the results this way.
Otherwise the only way to get accurate results here on RCU is when you do a search, untick Less Precise Match and tick Show results by RANK. Seems to work most of the time.

That looks like the search string used successfully on Deja News. I had forgotten about that, plus I didn't realize it would work on Google. Thanks!

No problems Ed.
Google is also handy for conversions.
1/16 of an inch in mm
For example gives you:
(1/16) of (1 inch) = 1.5875 millimeters

Are any of the regular Club Saito members going to the Lebanon PA swap meet this year?
I am and thought it would be great to meet some of you.
Any thoughts?
Also, if you are going, would anybody have a table they might be able to share? Have a few motors radios and chargers (small items) to bring.

Ram Jet:
I only have experienced with an Enya two cycle engines and all my four cycles are Saitos, so I can't help you with the engine. Regarding your choice of fuel, I would use Powermaster 20/20. That is all I use in my Saitos and they run great. In the past year I have used about 12 gallons and never a glitch in running the engines. If you asked other Saito guys about fuel, you get a lot of good responses about Powermaster, while there are also a lot of other guys who like different fuels.

Hey GaGeeBees,
what I would give to be able to............
just no way that can happen. I'd never get away with it. WRAM show last weekend, Lebanon in 2 weeks and then driving 4 or 5 states away to bring back MORE airplane stuff??
I had to buy the wife a trainer to try and make it palatable for her to put up with me working in the hangar every nite after the 5 minutes we spend together while I wolf down dinner and dissapearing every weekend when the weather co-operates.....thank God the son-in law wrecked it . That was close........
I can't keep getting away with this. And you buddy, aren't helping lol
You're like a drug dealer putting a little taste in front of an addict!!!

Just remember when you leave for the swap meet to put a heap of empty boxes in the car/trailer. That way you can fill them with stuff for the return journey and the trouble and strife will be none the wiser.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
LOL sodbuster. I know what you mean. A typical conversation at my house goes something like this:
Mrs: "Where'd you get that?"
Me (whilst practicing my best innocent look): "What?"
Mrs (pointing at something that looks suspiciously clean and yet-to-be-crashed): "THAT!"
Me: "That's been there for at least two years. You never noticed it?"
Generally it ends with her walking away muttering nasty single syllable things about my ancestry and is often followed by a staggering American Express bill listing a buncha places with "boutique" somewhere in their names.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Could anyone tell me what the difference is on these two carbs if any? I dont have an airframe built for my 82 and i broke the needle valve off inside the spray bar on my 91. i would like to knowif i could swap them. i know it will work but would it have the same cfm raiting. I know the intake tube is the same size and the air inlet of the carb seems the same. any input?
RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I thought I'd covered myself pretty well right from the get go when I got back into the hobby a year and a half ago........
I'd cleaned out the garage one weekend and pulled out the 2 or 3 planes I had from 10-12 years ago before I met her and within a week I knew I was an addict again
After a night or two of me hiding in the garage till midnight, she came down to investigate.
When she said " Wow.. you've got a few of them, huh?"
To which I like any quick thinking addict who KNOWS he's going to need to score answered......
" Oh, these? That's nothing......I probably have 15-20 more stored in the shop!
Why I even have a few that have never been out their boxes!"
I was in like flint! Had myself covered for at least 2 years I thought!
...........and then all the little boxes started arriving on the doorstep .
Damn UPS man! I TOLD him to leave them on the side of the garage!!!
that's right about when the trips to the salon for facials and massages started and also right around the time she hired a cleaning girl......

The spray bar, LS needle, HS needle, Gasket set, and barrel in a 82 are the same as those in a 91
The only thing with a different number is the carb body
