Hi,

I received a used saito FA-82, and I would like to know what are the initial setting for the low speed and high speed setting because actually they are all closed and I don't want to mess hours in try to make it come alive.

Thanks

SDG 666, Set your HSN to about four turns out and the LSN just not quite flush with the throtle arm. That Should get things going for you. When I got my 82 all the needles were closed, took a bit to figure oout why it wouldn't run. Good luck, Tom

I have a DX7 radio with a 7000 receiver. I lost my trainer two
weeks ago when I lost control of the plane. I think the reason for the
loss of control  is that the switch was left on in error and the battery
lost  power during its second flight for the morning. I did a control
check before flying that morning and it did pass. I want to put two 1100
maHr 4.8 v in parallel using a y harness.  This should give me
sufficient reduancy . Can I use the regular wall  charger to charge the
two batteries which are in the plane? I have also just purchased a 9000
receiver will the same hook up work? Are there any suggestions. I
usually fly  two planes for about 20-25 minutes each on a Saturday and
Sunday morning.

you are not actually in the correct forum for this question , but the answer would be yes. That arrangement will work, just expect a longer chargingperiod to top off the batteries. my Dx7 xmitter will last a couple of hours in use and I typically get about 65 minutes of air time in my basic 4 standard servo planes and about 45 minutes air time on my 6 and 7 servo planes with mech retracts on 1200mah 4.8v packs. It seems to me that Spektrum recommends 6.0v although the 4.8v's seem to work just fine for me on the .60 size and smaller. Your 9000's should be fine, they're basically the same just 2 more channels than the 7000's. If you are in .90 size and up or using a lot of high torque servos you'll probably want to step up to 6.0v 2800mah+ flight packs.

try the "batteries and chargers" or the "radios, transmitters, receivers etc" forums for more detailed info

Thanks Frets
I did try the other forum but did not get a response so thought I would try the Saito Chat which seems very active and informative. Best regards

Kenny , A cheap investment that can save you a lot of money is a $20 hobbico volt meter to check your batteries . I check my Rx batt. before every flight . People make fun of me for being so anal but my planes generally last longer . Plus , I would hate to be responsible for a plane hurting someone when it looses control . I just turned 40yrs old and I think the "Mad Cow" is setting in plus it is easy to get side tracked at a busy club and forget to switch off .

Hey all. I need some input:
I am running a new saito 125a in a TF 1/7 P-51.   What is the recommended fuel combination for this engine?  I hear 15/20; 20/20; some at the local club go with 30%/20 lub heli fuel...?   I live in Colorado and the local altitude is 5,280 feet.  I am told a higher nitro does better at the higher altitude.   Please help.

In my observations, it seems like the engine runs a little rougher on 30% heli fuel and vibrates.  Do all the 125s vibrate - especially under full power!?  The tail feathers rattle!

Thanks!

My 1st Saito 1.25 shook so bad when it was new, Iwas nearlyPOSITIVE I had a lemon. As it broke in, and Ileaned the low speed needle valve, it ran better and better. Now, it is smooth as silk, and 100% reliable. I like it so much, Ijust got another Saito 1.25!

If you balance your prop well, but still have a lot of vibration at low to mid throttle, I'dbet dollars to doughnuts that your LSNvalve is set too rich. Saitos come from the factory WAYtoo rich, and most people are shy about leaning them out enough. IRARELYsee someone else's Saito that has the LSNleaned out enough!

However, high vibration at wide open throttle is more likely because something is out of balance, or bent.

Iuse Wildcat 15% Premimum Xtra, with 18% synthetic/castor mix oil. I have never ran a nitro engine at your altitude, but Iprobably would use at least 20% way up thar!

Guys what would you say a never ran but 7 years old Saito .91 (non Golden Knight) is worth? New it is $310.00, so if I changed the o-rings/gaskets it should be well worthover $200.00 right? $250.00???

I think those Brulines are One Size Fits All

If you fly in the dry lakes you would want the fine but if from grass the coarse should be fine.

I have not felt the need yet. I live in the East in an area that doesn't get real dry and I fly from grass

Tower quit selling the coarse and the fine is back ordered

What's theright 3D prop fora 1.15?

Just swapped it out of my B-HSpit for a 1.50 (needs more power) and throwing the 1.15 in an OMP Fusion.

Also, any idea what RPM I should see out of the 1.50 swinging a Graupner 15 x 8 3blade?

APC 16 X 4W for the 115

My guess 8300 on the 15 X 8 three blade for a 150

Thank you sir!
do you think that''l be too much of a load for the 1.50 ?
Guess I'm better off running an MA as far as an RPM gain?
Be a shame as far as looks go though.....

The 16-8 two blade is the standard prop for a 150 so a 15-8 three blade should be just right

Hey, thanks. I found it.
Good info:

"FUEL TUBING: “Normal” or “Standard” size fuel tubing has 3/32 inside diameter; it will work OK for all Saito engines provided you have a conventional tank setup; ie the tank is just behind the engine. However, if you are using a larger engine (150 size or bigger) with a long length of fuel tubing (eg the tank back over the CG) make sure there is no restriction on fuel flow and I prefer “Large” size (1/8” ID) tubing for those larger engines when using longer fuel lines.

The symptom of insufficient fuel flow is evident at full throttle if you are unable to get a rich setting by fully opening the needle valve. There might be a number of reasons for constrictions so don’t assume it is only the tubing."

Gentlemen,
I purchased a brand new .82 today for an old plane a friend of mine gave me after a crash.
Plane was been repair for some time but i got tired of the super tiger 51 i used to just fly the plane.
Installed the engine, no problems as it was set up for a 72.
Took said beast outside on my patio.  Fueled. Power on....Radio on.
Four rotaions of prop to pull fuel into the carb.
Attach glow ignitor.
MAGIC......a some what choppy 3500 rpm.
THEN........for some reason......i had to fiddle with something, cant even remember what .
Right hand into a spinning APC 14x4w....
this is NOT my first rodeo....but i did it anyway. Thirty stiches and 2 and a half hours later.....Saito 1, Right hand 0

Ya'll be careful.

And to think they call these TOYS.
