Yeah, same here, VeeAte. Worse yet, according to your dimensions it would fit in my Waco cowl with room to spare!

Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves that it IS just a hobby....before our wives do it for us....by then we're usually in deep doo-doo....

V8, I have the little brother to the 1.82, a 1.30, it is very smooth, some think that because the pistons are moving back and forth approximately at the same time that they should vibrate but that's not true. Due to the rod angularity changing while one pistin is going in and the other is going out the pistons accelerate and decelerate at different rates so the effect is minimal.

The 182T might be a bit out of my budget too for now.

TexasSkyPilot I know exactly what you mean. Those dimensions are for the Corsair cowl too. Tho if it fits inside that space you should be right.

Mike Early: You want to hear an awesome RC radial? Search YouTube for Big Iron Sea Fury or Yak 11 Radial. I think they might be moki's, but the big Saito radials sound much the same.

Just get a Cline regulator and be done with the hassle of the pump . Iron Bays are nice also and I tend to use them on my bigger stuff.

Michaelh, don't forget; one man's "hassle" is another man's fun challenge.

elvir, Michaelh brings up a good point, if you don't like spending time fiddling with your engine/pump to find that "sweet spot", it might be worth looknig harder at a way to force-fit a regulator. It depends on what you're into!

Pearhead , I do have to remember that . I think thats the one reason I fly glow in the first place , the challenge .

Hobbsy , we just moved here Im going to have to pay that shop a visit . thanks for telling me about it . Suprisingly with all the beultiful land around these parts there is absolutely no place to fly within 40 miles.
I have to go all the way up to Wytheville or down to TN like Johnson City and Watuaga . Im kinda bummed about that , I have not flown since we moved here . Only tuned the engines up to the new atmosphere .

I have an OS 70 that is surging. I have changed the fuel lines but did notice that there are bubbles that pass through the fuel lines into the carburetor Could this be cause by vibration? The fuel seems to be shaking around. Any suggestion how I should eliminate this?

yes but its not an OS issue its a gas tank issue. So I just thought I would discus it here. Too many Saito engines to join another discussion group.

Vibration causes bubbles from tank; bubbles to engine causes surging.

Check your engine for loose mounting screws at engine to mount and mount to firewall. Check the muffler mounting bolts. Check your prop for out of balance or runout. Check your crankshaft for bending. Wrap your tank in foam to isolate it from vibration. Check your fuel lines for cracks or splits that would introduce air. Check your filter if there is one in between the tank and needle valve. If it is a remote needle valve, check the fittings into and out of the plastic valve body and check it for cracks. If all else fails to eliminate the vibration and bubbles, buy a Saito radial. :-)

I would replace both fuel and vent lines. Also, look at your fuel line and see if you can use a larger diameter. A small amount of bubbles have not affected my engines, or I'm not aware of it.

The engine had no foam insulation so I took it out and found ways to put foam all around it. The kit had me silicone the tank to the wooden supports so now everything is floating. we will see how it goes tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
