ORIGINAL: Zoobear

Have a 180 4 stroke with bad threads in head from loose muffler. what size heli coil do I need? Thanks
Helicoils do not normally work well in the exhaust

People have been sending the heads to Clarence Lee to have a insert installed

14 X 1 mm

Hey guys, Im looking for a inverted pitts muffler for my 115 and 125. I found a slimline part # for the 125, 4013 but no number for the 115. Will one from a 100 work or will the 125 work on the 115. Thanks for the help

The exhaust outlet on the 115 is the size of the 100 at 12 X 1 mm

The 125 is 13 X 1 mm

Mike,

The 1.00 will not work, it has a 12x1mm thread. It has a different exhaust thread than the 1.15 and 1.25. They both have a 13x1mm thread.

Mike,

Sorry for the confusion. w8ye is correct according to Horizon's data the 1.15 and the 1.00 are the same.
I stand corrected.

Jim, Though the 115 has the same bore as the 125, the Horizon parts list has the Saito 80 pipe listed as well as the 91 muffler for use with the 115.

The 115 is 12 X 1 like the 100?

Hey guys forgive me if I nissed it in the 600+ pages here, but while I have had several Saito engines, 50, 65, 80, 91, 180 I have been fly a lot of GAS stuff of late, and am looking at the FG-36 for DVII I have planned for the colder days ahead. Does anyone have any experiance with this engine they would like to share?

Thanks!

Dennis

There is no 180 twin. However there is a 182. That would seem appropriate in a Cessna 182.

I've got a Saito 90 twin in a Top Flite Cessna 182. Flies very "scale like". I imagine you'll have to cut the cowl quite a bit with the larger twin. I had to cut it just a bit for the 90 to fit.

The 90T is one sweet little engine. I have no idea what engine is recommended for the TopFlite Cessna 182. My comment was referencing putting a 182 into a 182. Sounded like a heckuva lot of engine for that plane but that's his call, not mine. I'm flying a 1.30 twin in a 9' wingspan Nosen Champ and have much more than scale power. Your 90T would probably be a great match for scale performance on that airframe as well.

Top Flite suggests a .91 to 1.20 4-stroke. The 90T isn't as powerful as the single cylinder 90, so it's just barely enough for the 182. You definately have to fly it on the wing. The 182(engine) is probably a little overkill, not to mention the weight. I agree, the 90T is a sweet engine. I've got two....one in the 182, and one in a H-9 Cub. I can't decide which i like flying more

Actually Scott, the TS 90 is very close to the .91 single in power, the .90 triple now, that is weak compared to the .91.
