got my 130t running pretty decent tonight, but before i could get it totally dialed in it got dark and both glow drivers crapped out at the same time...which is odd but it was time to stop for the night anyway...got to taxi around a bit in the yard, seems like it has some good power with the 15x6 pro-zinger prop o decided to start out with, couldn't find a 16x4 I liked...that gas twin looks awesome can't wait to see a video, you know whats next...GAS RADIAL!...

The gas alternate firing twin can use a single dual outlet ignition

A radial would require 5 individual single outlet ignitions with one magnet in the hub. You are not likely to see that.

The gas engine fg36 sounds putt putt compared to the nitro version but think that saito need to go there and people seem to find it difficult to get the best performance out of the gas engine version..they swing the max prop.They don't bark like the nitro engines do.

Anyone made a Gas, or even nitro, rotary engine for RC? Single "drive by" ignition contacts, with make or break for speed control. Maybe a bit messy, I think. I have heard that full scale pilots had to make a fast run to the john after flying their castor oil lubed rotary engined planes.[]

The ones available here have rolled threads and ends and various sizes fit all the Saito glo range don't know about the petrol

Do the fancy elbows downunder have a Saito part #?

The rolled threads part sounds good.

The problem with the hydraulic tubing type elbows I've seen was that the major external thread diameter stopped at a sharp corner at the inside turn of the elbow. This created a fracture zone where they would break. It didn't have anything directly to do with the threads themselves.

In reply, most of the right angle hydraulic fittings I have dealt have been aviation grade and these appear to be the same. I don't know the part numbers but they were reviewed in the latest Airborne magazine here in Oz. Their web address is www.airbornemagazine.com.au The Australian agent for Saito is Hobby Headquarters in Sydney.
Between those 2 you should be able to get what you want, me I go 80 kilometres to my local model shop and get him to get the bits I need. I gather you guys have access to the Saito engine mounts, but you might like to look up Christian Traders for their flexible exhaust pipes, haven't laid hands on them personally but I have very good reports about them and will probably use them on my next project a competition grade Stinson Reliant based on te Marutaka / Royal kit.
I gather their exhausts work well with all sorts of gas engines (Saito included) in the ESM NNRF units.

FNQ is right.That thinwall stainless flexible pipe is good quality,i liked it's sound compared to the saito flex pipe.

Hi All,

Does anyone know why it is so difficult to find a cam gear for a 220. I think it is the same one used for the 120 and up engines. #SAI120S35. I ordered one from Horizon awhile back and they were saying they were on backorder and expected the first part of October. I just checked their site and now they are saying late November? Anyone know whats goin on? Anyone know where they are available?

That crap happens sometimes. We hate it. You can sometimes get lucky and do a search and sometimes find someone that has one in stock laying around their hobby shop. Not often.....


On related note, I broke a cam gear and even a tooth off the crankshaft as well.
How in the hell did that happen?
Upon disassembly, everything was nice and wet with lubricant. Dang. 70 dollars of damage and I have no idea why.

I agree. I was flying my 220 and it was running great. Then it just quit in mid flight and I had to dead stick it in. Thought maybe it needed some adjustment, but when I tried to start it again the prop just spun freely. I took the engine apart and found I had lost 4 teeth on the cam gear???? My 220 has been sittting on the bench for two months cause I can't find a gear anywhere!!
