Ok I have 2 saito 30's nib , i can't for the life of me find a plane to put them on! I'll go for any plane that's scale or sport flying, someone please give me a recommendation , thank you!

Some of the 25E electric planes are good candidates for the Saito 30. Some of them are scale
Even the combat planes like the Mustang, Spitfire, and Corsair are good candidates. Hand launch and belly land. Fly in the weeds

I have a Saito 30. At the current time it is in a Dynaflyte Butterfly (large powered glider) and it powers that very well. I have also plans to put it in a Sig Kadet Seniorita or LT-25 but at the moment, Sig does not have any kits available.
The Phoenix Rainbow electric has been converted by a bloke that hangs around here. He loves it. I have the electric version and it is a very nice plane to fly. I considered putting the Saito in it but I crashed it (again) before I managed to do it. (My fault. I did not put the 2.4 gig antenna on the radio and you can guess the rest. The damage was very light though and I could easily get it flying again.)

The GP Electro Stick is a good candidate to fill in and with a thin sheet of plywood over the firewall

I have just built my 8th Kadet Senior. All the others to date have been built as per the plan. No ailerons. This one has ailerons. I copied from an ARF Kadet Senior I have.
I built the wing the usual way (ie without ailerons but before joining the halves I cut barn door ailerons into the wing. Each aileron is 7 wing bays long and approx 85mm wide.
I drew a string line at the 85mm mark and then used a square to mark two vertical lines on the ribs 21mm apart. Then I cut out the 21 mm section of wing ribs and fitted two strips of 10mm balsa to form the leading edge of the aileron and the trailing edge of the wing. I also fabricated the ends of the ailerons from 5mm balsa and then cut the trailing edge to let the ailerons out of the wing.
I reduced the dihedral to about half the original amount. The ARF has about 1/4 the normal "no aileron wing" dihedral.
I also fitted sheeting between the wing ribs in the centre bays (I have done this on all my Kadets) and later I glassed the centre with 3.4 oz cloth and Sig resin.
It flies well. It is less stable than the standard version but more stable than the ARF. It can be flown with rudder and elevator only or it can also do normal aileron turns quite neatly. It also rolls better than I thought it would.
Noise is provided by a Saito 72 which is total overkill and part of the reason I strengthened the wing centre section. Apart from that the plane is stock standard.
I covered the sheeted part at the front with Solatex and the rest with film.
Have fun building your aileron wing.
PS I call the plane "Scraps" because it was built from a wing kit, a fuse kit, some balsa and any covering I could find.

I started with the Saito 30 on my Somethin Extra and finally graduated to the Saito 82a. The 30 made it a nice trainer, the 82a made it a rocket.

It's been awhile but I just wanted to say thanks to those that helped with my 130T, it's now running beautifily, drops a cyclinder once in awhile but it always pics back up with a few quick blips on the throttle...heres a couple pics on my GP 81" Cub turned tundra cub with the 6" balloon tires and flaperons, will be flying on skis when we get some snow this year...

Who's going to be the first to mount one of the Saito 170 radials to a 1/4 scale Piper Cub?
The 90 size would probably work real well in the GP ARF Cub. I've got one and its a real nice model.....

OK what size tank should i use on my piper Pawnee with the saito 30, i have a 2,4, & 6 oz tank, i would like to get at-least 10-12 mins out of one tank minimum

I am building my SIG Senior as a test bed and also so my old mate up here in FNQ can use it to get his Bronze wings. He is building a Mick Reeves Sopwith 11/2 Strutter and an Arizona Models Avro 504 (when he gets the rest of the bits) and a small electric FE 8 (plan from scale models) so it is up to me to provide the training ships etc. I am doing the original build right down to aeroflyte balsa cement, interestin trip
Now re your engine I have seen one with an OS 91 up from and one with alternately a Saito 65 and a OS 61 al of which performed well. They were used as training a/c and also as glider tow a/c which they also dod well. The one with the alternate engines had a removeable firewall and I'll post photos of this when I get mine finished. This idea harks back to the O/T days (actually hen O/T was modern flying late 1930's and 1940's) where engines where changed for the different classes of LER or "speed" (duration) events where whole engines and firewalls were removed from one model and exchanged for different classes of engine.

if I had more money the 90R3 woulda been on my Cub instead of the twin but I like the 130...feels real "vintage" and is more than enough power for the plane, and despite the weight if you drop the flaperons it's almost hard to get it to land in a short distance, you have to just about stall it...

Re Oprah one good thing our Prime Minister had tryouts for her new job "being Oprah's front person" not that I am biased. Now to business has any one made and used successfully a prop shaft extension for Saito in the 91 to 125 range. I want to bury my engine for the Reliant inside the cowl but unless I can devise / use a prop shat extension this is not possible, any thoughts / ideas greatfully accepted

I'll bet a carton of vb that when she farts it sounds like a well tuned small block saito getting quickly throttled up.The prop shaft extension is interesting to me too.
