Jim, neither of my .80s nor the 1.50S have a letter on the lug. I don't know what that means if anything. That silver .80 I got in a trade in exchange for an Enya .90 fourstroke. My Saito collection is in pretty sad shape now at, a .30, .40a, FA .40, a .62, two .80s and a 1.50S.
I have some Saito engines with replacement crankcases with no letter on the lug.

Hobbsy,

Do you have any drawings or a sketch of your test stand you might be willing to share? I have been thinking of designing one but I like some of the features of yours just from the picture you posted.

I'm lusting over an FG-36. Any reason not to buy a clean 2 yr old one as opposed to the higher price of the new one? Have there been any big improvements on them in the last couple years? Thanks. And thanks for this loooong- interesting -informative thread. Brian

Thanks Rick, as Jim stated its a PSP, the board its mounted on is (3) 1/2" thick oak boards laminated together with 2 hour epoxy with the center board sticking out just far enough to mount the PSP. The PSP is then bolted to the center oak board using Vibra-Loc mounts from B&B Secialties/aka Bennett Built, the Vibra-Locs are on this page. Here's a shot of the Vibra-Loc setup.

Guys,

i am at work and i need to know the size of the x4 SHCScrews that hold the cylinder assembly
,tight, on the crankcase....

I must replace them because one of them failed while checking if these are tight or not...

It's for my SAITO FA-120S

If its the same as the 1.50 cylinder base bolts they are. 4mmx14 x.7 thread. The index on the slider is exactly lined up with 14mm, the camera did not pick up the index mark.

Thanks Richard, I've never owned a 1.20 or a 1.80. I did have a 1.25 for a while.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SAI120S14 for under $4 for the set.

Hope that this helps,

Bob

It's "Kostas" [8D]

I use the GreatPlanes glass-filled nylon engine mount,
as Hobbsy posted earlier!

Hi All,
This has probably been covered somewhere in the thread, but I can't seem to find it. So, forgive me if it has allready been addressed. Anyway, Is there a thread or site I can go to that will give me what I need to convert my 220 to gas?

Thanks
Tom

Old Fart you aren't going to buy something on line are you???  What would Gerry (Harvey) say.  Re those mounts for big engines, me I wouldn't use them I always use metal mounts and Saito makes some really good ones.  Reasons for doing this are principally vibration and I believe a small reduction in resultantant HP.  The vibration problem is emough for me my mentor (old Fart Jim H) saw a very expensive ESM machine bite the dust because and engine fell out of the model (approx 10 hours on engine and model no previous damage) and how do we know it was the engine because one fibre glass bearer was still attached to the engine.  I still use F/G where weight is an issuebut the Saito and OS mounts are so light and strong that there is not a lot of difference.
BTB I am getting a book on Travelair Mystery ships from Amazon along with 3 other + 3 DVD's delivery cost AUD 27 the book is USD 29.95 6 weeks delivery sourced from a leading book seller in OZ AUD 93 plus 6 weeks delivery.  Interesting huh
