I know that those are Saito engines but there is a lot of discussion on them in the Gas Engines forum.

G'day Hobbsy,
Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum, I didn't realize there was a different one for Saito petrol engines.
I'll have a look over in the Gas Engines forum.
Cheers

OK Saito buds, I got cleared by the Dr. yesterday to use my arm, no restrictions. That means I can fly again and ride my Harley again. At therapy Thursday I worked out with 80 pounds and it was easy. I can straight arm 15 lbs out front or straight out the side. Looking forward to flying this little LT 25 as soon as the rain clears out in a day or two.

i am very sad, i had purchased a muffler for my Saito 125 from a guy in Louisiana, it is an aftermarket muffler, for tighter areas. and yesterday, i had to remove cowl, and after i removed the muffler, i noted that the threads on exhaust port are stripped. does anyone have any advice or do i have to purchase a brand new crankcase?

Hey Orthobird:
The threads on your Saito can be tapped out to a slightly larger size. I have found that I can only take the threads out to a larger size only one time as the boss becomes too thin. You will have to make an oversize bushing or nut to thread into the new oversize threads also.
I like all my Saito motors from the little 45 my 90 and 270 twins and my 325 radial. What little marvel motors they are.

Hoooraaaay !!! I'm out of jail. It turns out that it was the AVG security toolbar that was blocking access to RCU. Whew, thought I was locked out for good.
Anyway ....I have recently acquired 2 more Saitos per instructions from Hobbsy. I now have a FA-91SGK in excellent used condition. Haven't started it up yet as I've been fitting it to my new WW1 biplane ....a Hangar 9 Sopwith Camel (used) in excellent condition. However today, I traded a 20cc gas engine for a very nice Saito FA-82GK. I plan to mount the 82 on my Camel and install the 91 on my SPA bird ....a World Models Intruder 90 once it's repaired and recovered. I'll be ready for next year's contest season.
I really feel lucky to have found both of these engines at such great prices and I'm excited to put them to use.

Dave,
I doubt I'll ever reach that illustrious level.
I may have spoken too soon on getting out of "jail". Using FireFox, I'm blocked from logging-in. Ican get to some pages but, have difficulty navigating. The virus AVG reports is "HTML/Framer". If someone can send that info to the RCUmanagers, mayber they can kill it.
I had to resort to IE9 to get back to this thread.
Glad you had a good ride. Ineed to get my BMW boxer back on the road now that decent riding weather is coming. Although it's still breaking the 100's here ....we had 102 today.

Saito Buds, when searching Horizons site for new Saitos use a B on the end of the name, for example, Saito 150B or 180B
http://www.horizonhobby.com/webapp/w...pe=productgrid
This probably applies to the .82, .72 and maybe others as well.

OF,
You may have a point there. Now I'm having trouble accessing this site through IE9. Had to sneak through using a search engine.
However, I wouldn't have the BMW if my brohter hadn't passed away much too young (62). He had two MCs and I got this beauty from his estate. It's more of a keepsake than anything else. It's a '99 R1100RT in immaculate condition ....except the starter has died and I need to replace or repair it. There's no kick-starter on these.
It's much like a Saito really. It's like a timex swiss watch.

Camshaft Set Screw Size & Pitch
The set screw for the camshaft in my FA150 has the socket stripped out.
I can get it out W/an easy-out or left hand drill bit. I can buy metric set screws @ the local hardware store but I would like to know the size/pitch.
Anyone have that information?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Im having a lot of trouble getting here from my iPad.
I think we should consider closing this longgggg thread and opening a new one called the New Club Saito.
Anyhow Im very happy to inform you all that the 100 that I was going to trash was fixed by Horizon in 1 week for $70.
The only thing wrong with it was both bearings, front and back. Im soooo happy

OF,
No offense taken. Hope I didn't come off to harsh as that wasn't my intent.
I love these Saitos. No RC engineIknow of sounds as sweet or runs as smoothly. I am the proud owner of 3 now, that is, as soon as the .82 arrives. I haven't started the .91 and I'm anxious to hear it run.I may mount it on my test stand just to hear and see it run. What's the sense in having a beautiful machine if you can't play with it.

My name is Jeff and Ihave a Saito addiction (Saitoholic?). Inow own 4 Saitos and have 2 mounted to planes that Ifly weekly . Icurrently own an FA40, 45, 50 and 62.
Ifly the 40 and 50 but plan to replace the Magnum 52Fs on my Escapade this winter with the 62. Surprisingly the Mag 52 runs "almost" as good as a Saito (provided I feed it 30% nitro). My Saitos will all happily run 15% nitro. Ithink the 45 is the smoothest , Ineed to get it mounted to something.

Lopflyer,
I use my iPad the most for checking RCU, but sometimes an iPhone and my desktop computer like right now. My desktop runs both Mac OS and Windows XP. The Club SAITO thread is just big, huge, and slow to load on everything I use. The fastest and best way to load the thread is to click the arrow button on the far right of your screen from the glow engine menu. This is the last message button and that's what you will get. Just scroll up to the last one you read. It may be clunky, but it works faster every time.
